    Get links to your site and the search engines will find you. I have yet to submit a site to any search engine and they're all indexed just fine.

    It's no longer neccessary to submit your URL to the major search engines (MSN, YAHOO & GOOGLE) - they will find you. MSN does that faster than the other two.

    Concentrate on 'good SEO' and submit to the smaller search engines and directories.

    You might want to try submitting to dmoz.org - dmoz supplies search results to all three.

    Today I looked at the top 10 SERPS in G for "search engine optimization" and visited a few. I was surprised how many are pushing "submit to the search engines."

    One was even selling a service to submit monthly. I thought I heard the theme song for "the twilight zone" and I'd been taken back to 2001!

    apondonet is correct that you do not need to submit. DMOZ doesn't really supply results, but does have an influence.

    Msn, still hasnt found me but yahoo and google have lol. I agree, no point in submitting your site. It will actually take longer in my opinion for you to get indexed.

    DMOZ supplies directory data to numerous search engines, one of them - Google uses DMOZ data for its Google directory: http://directory.google.com, contents of which are incorporated in Google's search results.

    I think when I state that DMOZ supplies results I mean exactly the same thing.

    Yes,
    Google Stemap is one the most effective way to bring crawler to your pages frequently. Make a sitemap xml file. Add all your pages there and submit it. Make
    changefreq=daily and prority=1.0 there.

    You can submit your own articles to high PR Article Directories. You can also submit your web into some Social Bookmarkings using maximum 5 tags (keywords). These ways will make your web being indexed faster.

    Good luck ! :)
