Why do long keywords seem to be easier to SEO?

Because the more words you add the greater the chance that fewer other sites will be competing for the phrase

Long keyword is easy to rank as seo sense. because there are more characters. if a use search, then any character can b match at engine. by the way users search today long type sentence.

It's nothing to do with the number of characters - it the exactness of the phrase.

If I search for "dogs" I'll get a wide variety of sites returned in the results.
If I search for "dog grooming in Auckland" I'll get much more exact results and the sites that are returned aren't competing with all the other dog related websites so it's easier to get page 1.

This is because you limit your keywords for the particular. Like if you have the keyword "Blockchain Development" then it is a short keyword and will have broad matching so you'll see the most optimized website on the SERP for this keyword. And, if you have a keyword "Blockchain Development Services in Newzealand", it is a long-tail keyword and you have also made it country-specific and services-specific (means this keyword will easily be recognized by the SE when someone searches for services). Another thing is the exactness as Sarah said.

Which is why a lot of scam artists PRETENDING to be "SEO experts" love their "magic keywords" they research. Because if you can come up with some long phrase that nobody else is competing on, it's easy to rank #1 on it even though no legitimate user would ever type said long phrase into the search engine.

Had an assclown on a now defunct forums over a decade ago bullshitting people with that. One of his "clients" in particular was so utterly bamboozled by him as they ranked #1 for a phrase that had NOTHING to do with the product. The product was a photoshop plugin, which is why it was pretty stupid that for said "perfect phrase" EVERY other result was about powder-coating automotive engines.

On the whole "keyword development" and other such BULLSHIT is about trying to sucker people who don't care about your products onto the page. It's a waste of time, resources, and effort and only exists because ALLEGED "experts" know they can dupe nubes and rubes alike into THINKING it's helping.

If you're writing your content with any degree of quality or authority, your on-page "keywords" should take care of themselves, because you're using all the natural words relating to your topic. If you're not versed enough in what's being written to use words actually related to the topic that people interested are actually searching for, you probably shouldn't be writing content in the first blasted place.

And no amount of black-hat SEO scam artist "keywords" bullshit is going to fix that. If anything it just increases the odds of getting pimp slapped clear off of search engines altogether!

Because of low competition, long tail keywords seem to be easier to SEO.

Because of the low competition, long-tail keywords are considerably easier to rank than short-tail keywords. They also account for 70% of all web searches, so if you're not focusing on them in your approach, you're missing out on a lot of great traffic chances.

When someone looks for services, the long tail keyword will be quickly identified by the search engine The exactness is still another factor. There will be less competition to rank for each long-tail term. This implies that it will be much easier for you to move up the SERPs for each term.

There is always less competition for long-tail keywords. People underestimate the importance of such keywords.
