I wouldn't worry too much about a business plan for a website. What are you doing a business plan for, to attract investors? If that's the case just a demo, or even better a closed beta and your done.

Here is what Paul Graham had to say

I've gone through the process of creating a business plan and pitching it to VC's and I think we worried way to much about it and put way too much effort into it.

If you really feel the need to do "a proper" business plan, here is a good summary of how to write a business plan by Guy Kawasaki: http://blog.guykawasaki.com/2006/01/the_zen_of_busi.html

I strongly recommend a least an indepth outline before starting a website. It will serve as a place to gather your thoughts. Jot down your target market, how you're going to market the website, etc

If you are actively seeking investors, than a business plan is probably a good idea. Just remember the business plan is not the business. Any development on the site you can do will be well worth it. You need something more than a business plan to get an investor interested, it may be experience, a working product, an enthusiastic fan base, etc. The further along in the actual business you are the more interested investors will be and you will be able to get better terms.

Yes, business plans for your web sites would be great since those tutorials are written for general purpose and an example can help a lot..

Do some further google searches and im sure you'll various websites that give suggestions on how to lay out a business plan...

Its always good to have a business plan then you have something to reference against your progress and also so you know where you and your product/service is going in terms of development.
