facebook advertising- You can advertise everything as you are related by images or videos or by contents to connect with your people, family and friends by posts on your personal page. You can also advertise paid ads which is more advantage to socialize your network sooner.
Linkedin advertising- It is specific related to your career's growth or business. You can create page and advertise in search for either for job search, career development, or employee search, education related, courses offered, etc. Here also you can do paid ads.

Linkedin is awesome for B2B. This should obvious to anyone involved in advertising and marketing. What are your goals? What are you advertising? Linkedin allows you to target people by their job title, which is very useful in many situations.

FB is used by most folks for personal interactions, socializing, etc. If you are advertising on it, you can promote both B2C and B2B products/services, but B2C will likely do better. It is the reverse for linkedin which is more business and career oriented. You can still advertise for both B2C and B2B solutions, but B2B will likely do better.

Facebook uses demographic and interest-based targeting as their main way of targeting consumers, LinkedIn focuses on more professional targeting, such as job titles, industry, or even where you work.

Consider how much you want to spend on advertisements. Facebook and LinkedIn both let you select how much you want to pay, making them cost-effective options. When you compare the cost-per-click for each platform, you'll see the difference.

LinkedIn advertisements have an average cost-per-click of $5.26, while Facebook ads have a CPC of $0.97.
However, just because you're paying less per click doesn't mean you're getting higher-quality leads. LinkedIn is well-known for generating high-quality leads. Customers are in a conversion mindset when they browse LinkedIn, despite spending less time there.

You have greater liberty to choose what to advertise on Facebook, but Linkedin Ads require that they be more related to your career / business. Facebook ads cost less, but LinkedIn adds generate greater leads.

facebook is a social media platform , that you can comment on and post your ads on for free and they also have a paid ad section ,
but it is mainly for social media , now linkedin on the other hand is very powerful to but it is not as easy to advertise on there, now to they have directed target advertising that you can pay for , they are not like facebook where alot of posting is free , linkedin is for professional minded people. hope that helped you understand.

LinkedIn ads are a lot more expensive and (usually) less intelligent / harder to target, BUT you are overcoming the huge hurdle of catching someone in the right headspace to engage. People on Facebook aren't generally in 'work mode' and you'll have to really capture their attention to get them out of a social mindframe and into your product / service. LinkedIn doesn't have that problem.

LinkedIn is more designed for business and professional networking and offers a business profile and networking options. On the other hand, Facebook is more designed to connect with family and friends.

Linkedin is a better option if you want to direct your ads towards other companies and businesses, and Facebook ads are a more suitable choice for promoting products or services for the customers.
