I think it's ok to smoke in moderation, but like all things, it fucks you up when abused. Is that a blunt you are smoking in your avatar? :)

Even smoking in moderation does damage but as long as nobody gets hurt-moderation would be O.K. I dont smoke and never will cus for some ppl moderation leads to other stuff.

It screws you up if you use too much, too often, but no worse than alcohol or tobacco. So, if you want to do it, I ain't stopping you.

    That's Che Guevera :p

And I do smoke usually every weekend, not on weekdays. I do enjoy the feeling just to relax. All nature drug I hate all the others that have disgusting ingredients like battery acid.

I am just curious why everyone is against good ole' weed when it is one of the safest drug. Indians have been using it for thousands of years.

Smoking in moderation will not lead to a significant amount of brain cell loss. You would have to smoke every day, atleast 2 or 3 times a day for the affect to be so servere that the loss of brain cells affects you. Pot is not harmful, it has never been the cause of a single death in its thousands of years of existance, and when used responsibly; it can unleash a very positive aspect on life. You cant always believe what you hear. The majority of the people see it as something terrible... why? because its illegal. If Caffeine were illegal, Im absolutely certain that it would be considered more harmful then pot, and looked down upon by a majority.

Marijuana has been proven over and over and over and over to be completely harmless. It's illegality and terms like 'gateway drug' are all American government coined ideas, and are proven to be false.

These threads usually turn into wars so I'm going to bow out now. It's been decriminalized in Canada for some time now, so I don't really need to argue :)

Just because it's a "natural" drug doesn't make it any safer. There's actually been many very recent studies looking into the correlation between heavy marijuana usage and mental illnesses. The problem with most of these studies is the fact that most marijuana users use other drugs as well, so it's difficult trying to identify which drug is the main problem.

    Alright, I lied :D

    Links please.

That's completely false. A joint study conducted by Canada and the UK said that a mere 12% of marijuana users routinely use other drugs, including alcohol. I don't have a link, but it is stashed somewhere in http://www.statscan.ca.

I'll add that I know a tremendous amount of people who smoke recreationally, and I don't know a single person who uses any other drug besides alcohol.

Its actually not a fact that most marijuana users use other drugs. There are a lot of people I know that smoke recreationaly, and not one of them uses or has used anything else.

The problem is that most studies are not accurate cus of the small % that are used.

If you believe that then, for the sake of this thread, no one should quote, mention, or otherwise bring up any official study.

    Well, I don't want it! :D

Seriously, I think those studies, no matter the base used, can go either way. But I live in Canada, a country that has always had very lax ideas about marijuana use and has now decriminalized it entirely, and I speak from experience when I say that I have never, ever seen an adverse side of smoking marijuana. This is assuming that some standard conditions are met, such as not driving, etc.

I want to point out that I have never, ever heard of the term loco weed either.
