I think that depends on the niche you need to operate. But I would recommend to get started with the Freelancer sites where you can not only hire, but also check portfolio and inner rating of each writer.
I agree with Host4Biz. But some are harder to find, and you need to look for prior work, or ask companies who have created content that you like. My niche is writing about technology in a way people understand (quite a tricky thing to master) and most of my work comes from referral). Of course, I have a website too, and Google helps there, but the highest conversion is word of mouth. Hope that helps. Scott
If I were you I would hire someone into your team and have someone constantly. If you decided to invest into content - that means you need to get some fresh content all the time. So full time content creator would be good option I think.
I recommend “I Writer” if you are looking for fast and average quality content. Next is “Pro Blogger”. Here, you will find excellent writers you have written for Entrepreneur magazine, the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, the Washington Post, etc., and capable of writing the article, uploading them to your website, and applying SEO. “Upwork” is another place you will find top-class writers, but here, they will not be capable of uploading the article to your site and applying SEO; you will have to find someone else to do these last two. Warning: Do not consider Fiverr.com as a place to look for writers.
I think most of the places that I would suggest have already been suggested, so I won't suggest any more. I would say though that I would make my decision based on my needs: 1. How much content do you need? 2. How often do you need the content? 3. What is the quality of content you require? 4. Does the person writing the content need to specialize in a certain niche, or can the content be more general? I would answer those 4 main questions, and based on that I would decide where to look. Maybe hiring someone as a content writer for you would be better than freelancers, or, maybe freelancers would be the way to go.
I believe, you can find a good content writer here on DP, but if you will not get any luck there are a huge number of sites where freelancers are looking for job
Check writers section here on the forum, also you can try to find somebody in LinkedIn, there are a lot of self-employed people that always are ready for new challenges
All depends on what you are looking for really. If you need quality content on a regular basis hiring some one from a freelance site can work, I personally like hiring from forums such as these because the members generally know one another and like to keep their reps clean. Sites like fivver are ok, but I find a lot of pettiness sometimes in the reps received or given. Just my experience and my opinion is all.
That depends a LOT on which language in which your content needs to be written. Generally, the BEST place to find writers proficient in a language is to locate writers whose NATIVE language is the same as your desired content. For example, for American English, look for writers in the United States. For British English, look in England and to a lesser degree former Colonies in which English is the 'NATIVE' language. For Romansh, look in Switzerland, for Anindilyakwa your only choice is Groote Eylandt (Great Island), and so on.
