FB certainly not dying, but maybe losing popularity/appeal to the younger demographic. IG is still thriving, it's just losing a bit of market share due to the growth of Snapchat/TikTok. But I think we can revisit this discussion when some of these legal issues are settled, maybe over the next few years, up to a decade. That could drastically impact their $$ and policies. Still, until another competitor comes along, and poaches, say, like 500M+ users, lol, they'll be King.
It is just because of the new feature "Insta Reel" that makes Instagram similar to TikTok and most of the Instagram users don't like TikTok so (due to the ban of TikTok in India, all the Indian TikTok users are now on Instagram and spamming it as well as they did on TikTok). The second thing is that irritating the most are ads.
Interesting. Had no idea TikTok was banned in India (I'd 'like' your post but I don't have that capability yet, haha). That sucks that they've now brought their spam to IG. It does seem like there's been a bit more spam accounts recently, guess that's a big reason why. In regards to IG's appeal, I thought the main issue that was turning people off a bit was just that stupid Suggested Posts in feed feature. It is a bit annoying, but not like a dealbreaker that would force me to leave/seek out another platform, at least not for me at least.
I don't think Instagram is dying in the near future. It's actually being expanded all the time, especially for marketing and advertising purposes. Now, you can also buy stuff from it. Facebook, however, is being used less and less, especially from younger people.
Facebook and Isntagram are the best way to do fast targeted marketing of your brand or business. I have been doing social media marketing in Dubai and other countries since years and generated a lot of business for clients.
I just signed up for Instagram. Don't use Facebook. People like my pictures more than my Tweets or LinkedIn posts it seems.
It`s like asking if Google dying. It`s not, maybe not so trendy as before, but it`s still profitable. Another question is more relevant, "what will replace them and when?"
I can't get why do you think so? Facebook is becoming more and more popular. Facebook added a marketplace which is very helpful. Instagram is the best marketplace without ant doubt.
I returned to Facebook recently and you're right the comments seem to be full of spam now. It never used to be like that.
Last time I checked both Facebook and Instagram were both alive. Yet 4 posters on this thread, including the OP have died.(banned) There is a comical irony to this.
Facebook is still booming because it performs better in communicating. On the other hand, Instagram is good only for photos.
I found this most-hilarious, and it made my day! Thanks! I wouldn't give a crap if Facebook fell off the face of the Earth. Maybe it could happen even without someone else coming into the scene. Would be bittersweet to let/see Facebook fail on its own merits/accord. I totally agree with this. Zuckerberg is getting old too and he is no longer in college hacking school servers - he's all up in your personal life and data. I laugh when I hear people say that they date someone they met off of Facebook. What a joke!
