What is the general consensus on people selling their avatar space?

I dont think theres any problem with it at all

Selling is no good, rent it instead

 

That's the spirit! Rent if for awhile then take it back. Or, when your thread count soars, resell it for a higher price.

 

The key is to rent at a monthly subscription, so you can cancel when you like instead of locking yourself into a longer commitment than necessary.

 

Honestly, I didnt mind it. I post here on a "personal" basis as I like to keep business and pleasure separated. I was solicited as well, and since i didnt have an avatar, I decided "why not get paid for what I love to do?" I as well agree with monthly renting, and made sure the terms were clear.

 

I think there is nothing wrong with selling avatars. I've just made a search, and I found those threads. I will rent mine too.

 

An Avatar is your face to a forum, and selling it is weird for me. I like to recognize avatars to users.

 

I dont know... I didnt Sell my avatar/location space.
I just returned favors to my old friends (Which doesnt involve money..)

 

I don`t really have a view of that...

 

I get way too much traffic from it to let it out to someone else. For the record. No one could afford to rent it from me.

I would sell mine. I dont use it for advertising anything of my own so it might as well be used to help someone else and earn a little bit of money

 

I use mine in solely egoistic purposes of increasing the value of gold

Very true. I can't recognize half of people now. But I guess I'll get over it...

 

well i turn off avatar because it's so irritating. i'm now learning to recognise by username color.

 

I would never sell mine. I aint that greedy.
