Yesterday I sent a mail to google asking about images next to ads and to review one of my sites having images next to ads and their response.. I just makes the ads with light color border, I hope that is the reason they allowed it...
Here we go again with Google's bad inhouse TOS communications. Some people say it's okay, other people don't...
Well, they did say "new policy" so I would assume the person he spoke with is versed in the new techniques that are and are not allowed. I don't think they are taking away the idea altogether, just finally addressing it in some fashion and clearing up what is and is not allowed.
with the new policy, both of those screenshots would violate TOS. But who knows when the new TOS would be enfoced? maybe they won't even enforce it, you never know. i am just going to wait until people just getting banned (if they do), and maybe then i will just taking my images off. I think the risk is worth is, and I don't care that much about my adsense earnings because it's just a very small side income for me.
both of those appear to be 100% against TOS from what google has on their site. Not worth take the chance.
Definitely against the new TOS. Those pics appear to serve no other purpose than to direct the user's attention to the ads.
Hello! I did not understand "deedeedum" and "john_nyc" members saying "with the new policy, both of those screenshots would violate TOS", netjobs have received an EMAIL AND RIGHT CONFIRMATION from Google adsense Team. Again, You can see the new policy say: You can definitely place Google ads on pages containing images -- just make sure that the ads and images are not arranged in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors. For example, if you run a stock photography site with a catalog of thumbnail images, don't line the ads up with the thumbnails in a way that could be misleading. Consider using a full border around your ads or changing your ad colors Many people are giving their wrong opinion here, please if you think you are violating the Adsense TOS, contact directly Google Support. They will review your pages for FREE , and then they will tell you. Could be nice, if Google shoot examples about HOW TO USE images + Adsense blocks, right now, they are showing examples using images + Adsense violating the TOS. Best regards Jakomo
please come back and ask for help when google will ban your account, and write down the url of this thread )
Exactly what I have been thinking and its not the first time we have seen the lack of communication within Google Adsense departments.
Seems like a poorly thought out TOS change. What's wrong with directing users attention to the ads? Wouldn't an advertiser want that? Or is the real concern that AdSense publishers are under-moderated and the system over-abused?
Argh, why are google accepting people with borders around there images, when it clearly states you are not allowed to directly line them up with the ads. They make no sense
This mite not be the case, but I would send Google a second email to make sure. I work for a major company and there is times when agents do not read the memo/email and provide customer with wrong information. Better to be safe than sorry.
I told you guys a HUNDRED times here that it is TOTALLY OK. Their examples are extremely clear. Unless you deceive obviously like that, you are OK. As I said beforehand, it is OK to lure your visitors by way of pics next to ads, but it is not OK to deceive them by making them think that your ads are abouit those pics.
