Reddit is pretty strict with their bans. Before I fully understood their rules, I posted too many new articles, but wasn't engaging in group dialog. The result? A ban. Since then they graciously lifted my ban and I have stayed active in group discussions, which I am enjoying.
Yes, I replied to the MOD's private message, apologized for over-featuring my website, and was graciously readmitted. Since then I've become an active participant in the threads and am enjoying it.
Reddit SEO can be a little tricky for people who don't much about subreddits and upvotes. You can not only create credible answers for the users but also share your content in different subreddits and categories to promote it effectively
Reddit is a great source for traffic and SEO. However just posting a link to your website in a subreddit will not get your website any credible links. They may get you traffic but the links are classed as nofollow so no power(Link juice) will be passed on from Reddit to your website link. Recently we ran a successful test to gain a dofollow backlink from Reddit. If you head over to one of our subreddits https://www.reddit.com/r/localseohacks/ you will see in the menu beside the tab "Posts" there is a contextual link with the keyphrase "local SEO Services" which is classed as a dofollow backlink. To do this you will need an aged Reddit account (At least a couple years old) and create a subreddit that is highly relative to your niche. You can then create a menu link and either link to another subreddit or link out to an external URL. This is how to gain a dofollow backlink on reddit. Now go get your link!
It all depends on how you can use it. Reddit is not that easy to use as it seems or just posting spam on it to get traffic. You can work on it as you work for your social media handles to grow. You need to be very precise about what you are posting, what you are commenting on, and what you want. There thousands of subreddits that you can join to share your experience on something that will be beneficial to other users. Reddit has strict guidelines about posting or whatever you want to do on it. If you promote your content or links directly then moderators can remove your content without acknowledging you. Use the right subreddit to post your links or content, but starting it can be a little annoying to you because you can't be able to post anything in subreddits because of the low karma value. Don't forget to use the right keywords but don't stuff it in your post. It is a good tool to generate a decent amount of traffic to your website if it is used in the right way.
Use it to grow your own traffic, not just for SEO. Reach out to your target market and support them with their quest.
Reddit is super effective to get quick traffic to a web page but it doesn't directly help you with SEO.
At my end, Traffic is the part of SEO, and reddit is a platform it will help for traffic as well as sales.
