Do you get any meaningful traffic from youtube? I came across a news article which says youtube hits 325 million unique monthly visitors in India alone. I upload a video there daily, people watch it there, but do not follow the links to the website in the description box. Am wondering, any of you have found youtube sending some meaningful traffic your way? Those links are also nofollow, so there is not much SEO benefit. Are we just making content for google to make money of it, by showing google ads on the videos? No real benefit to us, except a new LIKE on the video, a new subscriber once in a blue moon? What do you do so that people click link in the description and come to your website? Thanks
If you have a good relevant video that a real person likes to watch and you have a genuine offer that is relevant to the video, yes, you can get qualified traffic.
Not at the moment, but I'm still trying to update. What I do is channel about Chinese traditional handicrafts.
There is an aggressive update on Youtube this past few days. They already implemented "Youtube Shorts" in which they immediately featured the less than 59 seconds videos in their Youtube searches in vertical video strips. It will be a great opportunity for youtube channels to gain thousands of audiences from their created appealing short videos.
@KylieSweet This is applicable for smaller than 1 minute videos only? My videos are longer than that, about 10-15 minutes generally.
Less than 59 seconds will do, Youtube will feature your short video in their searches in a vertically strip videos
I have doubt that youtube feature videos which are less than one minute ..... There would be many conditions behind make features to any videos like topics, information, graphics etc..
@KylieSweet Thanks for letting us know this. @seomanualsubmission This is probably to give competition to tiktok.
@JEET Thanks for clear ...... Now i can agree becaues tiktok was not in my mind ..... May be youtube now try to get place of tiktok and so featuring short video.
I have done good with taking my tik tok videos and submitting them to youtube. Granted, I don't worry about getting money from ads, but they do get views and it only takes a few seconds to post to YouTube. I have done good with advertising shirts on youtube that people click into my facebook page from.
Thanks, I will try this. Not sure how I will squeeze my content in 1 minute, but will give it a shot.
Try making it funny or engaging. Little snips of funny videos along with being serious about what you are promoting.
I'm not proud of it, but I prefer searching for videos about the topics on my website and leaving a meaningful comment with a link back to my website on the top comment (not the comment posted by the video uploader). Sometimes your comment will get deleted but I've been abled to drive traffic as well as makes some affiliate sales.
You can get on the last uploaded posts on your niche and put there affiliate links, it can catch some conversions.
@Vladesq How to get on last uploaded post section? I don't know about this. Could you please tell more? I don't promote any affiliate products. My whole idea is to build a brand for my website. My official competitors are some of the top known media houses of my country. Thanks
People will not click on the link in the description box just because it's there; you must say in the video, "Click on the link in the description box down below to learn more" or to get something. Whatever it is, must interest them enough to make them eager to go to the description box to click the link; that's how it works. Other than that, the video's content should be so interesting to them that they want to know more, and go searching the description box for themselves and click on your link. I'm not sure what's your niche, but I'm sure you are aware that whatever your idea is, it should be something people want to buy into? As internet marketers, it's never about "US" and always about "THEM."
