    Did you all hear that Google disabled the "Request Indexing" feature of the URL Inspection Tool?

    What do you plan to use for indexing instead?

    Yeah, I noticed that too. I wonder if they are doing a major update to their algorithm. After all it only says "Page actions are temporarily disabled".

    @qwikad.com
    There is an update going on, that much is sure.
    Lots of websites have started coming up on top simply because their domain name is a match for the keyword.
    Barely any readable content, and the website ranks on top... Lots of these are coming up.

    Actually, Google had during the 20 last months and have still a lot of bugs in the indexation process. As a result, huge amounts of pages have been wrongly thrown out of the google index. Therefore, too many people use the "Request Indexing" feature of the URL inspection tool in order to recover a correct indexation.

    That is why Google has disabled it temporarily (they are unable to solve the indexation issues while the concerned pages are «manually" indexed again).

    Of course, "temporarily" may be a long time if google is unable to rectify its indexation process.

    Whatever they do it will not be good for scammers, shysters, SEO frauds, and other low lifes. And when you say, "not good for us," I tend to think that you are one of the scammers, shysters, SEO frauds, or other low lifes.

    All you really need is the Bing webmaster URL inspection tool, it covers any (issue) and all.

    In the absence of being able to request indexing on Google Search Console, I do this:

    • Whenever I add a new article to my article-heavy website, I put a link to it for 2 or 3 weeks on my popular Home Page in a section entitled "New Additions." My Home Page is crawled frequently, so the new articles in "New Additions" are quickly picked up by the search engines.
