One of my sites has clicks that are always worth well over a dollar, but I don't make very much money from that site because I don't manage it or care about it. You will see what I mean: aboutmeso.info. Don't make sites for high click value, it won't work out too well. Most of them are niches that aren't too fun to write about in a blog.

Google often does this because of the traffic quality or invalid clicks. If Google thinks that the quality of the traffic is very low ( will never lead to a conversion ) then your account is not credited for a click.

huh? not sure what you mean.. :)

thats just to give you an idea of how much a certain niche/keywords can pay related to others.
But you gotta choose your own niche that you like, you can't just put all the highest paying keywords on one page hoping they'll sum up to get a $400 per click :p

it mostly depends upon the number of advertisers bidding on same keywords. Generally the keywords within real estate, finance and etc etc are high paying.

My click rate seems to be a bit on the low end of around .10 or so. Now after all the hard work, it's too late to change all the content.

I use this tool always as a general rule as to which keywords will pay decently and which ones will flop. When I do a google search for high paying keywords, someone usually has a free list to get my brain cells moving. Then I check the keyword tool on this site for suggestions from wordtracker/overture to see how many people search for the terms I have interest in, and then google suggest for competing pages, to see how far on the totem I will end up with a new site. And then try to distribute, some pages with the top searched keywords, some with middle, and some with the lowest searched terms.

With saturated topics, where you're getting 50 million searches, and the 1st 3 pages of google are PR8, you have to be creative enough to go deeper into the niche topic, there's no other way in.

    Im rambling now.

Point is. You must do this research first if you want to make money from your website with adsense. If you write passionately about your favorite topic even if you have hundreds of pages and perfect adsense placement, if the topic doesnt pay, it doesnt pay. Alot of people on this thread have found that out the hard way. I have too. Plus I've had some luck converting my loan site to incorporate adsense. With more traffic, it could be doing very well.

As for now, think 'service oriented'. I haven't looked into product yet, or general interest/hobbies. Thats next.
