Hey, I’m doing some research into the different ways bloggers can generate income online. I’d love to hear more about your experiences in producing online content, what you find challenging and what you think is missing to help content producers make more money. If any content creators are interested in being a part of a short interview, we can do it by phone or video, please drop me an email: Thanks! Mustafa
I've tried so many programs and so far Google Adsense continues to be a win for me, specially for a blog that does not have a specific affiliate product to promote, I can blog about what ever I want and Google continues to pay good money.
I agree, Google adsense can be a great tool. Although, I can't help but sometimes feel that for the amount of time going into a blog post the return isn't always the best. What do you love / hate about adsense? and super curious...Do you guys use any other tools a part from adsense?
I´m also going with google adsense. Patience is needed, the more popular your blog gets, the more you will make with adsense, but that takes time. You can definitely market your blog in many different ways, of course the best ways being more expensive. But like most things, you have to invest to earn. You can also go with cheaper ways, but it takes longer. Everything from starting a youtube channel on the same topic as your blog, I think many people avoid this because it takes a lot of time, but slowly as your youtube channel grows so will your blogging business, and then you not only have one source of revenue, but 2
Everyone here seems to like Adsense. I was told by several mentors that I follow on Youtube to avoid placing ads on your site. I personally also think that ads make a site load slower, they get in the way of the blog post, and all of this in my opinion will make someone want to leave your site. But, after reading how much you guys like it I think I'm going to actually give it a try instead of going based on assumptions. I've been trying to monetize my blog with affiliate marketing links, and so far I have not made anything, but I only started a month ago!
Has anyone tested the length of blogs and how that affects monetization? i.e., do you find a shorter or longer post gets more clicks/purchases? It seems to me like reader's attention spans are getting shorter and shorter and I wonder if that needs to be reflected in blogs to maximize results.
I dont think that is happening because SEOs are emphasizing on making the posts longer and longer. What I have read about it is that you can build a great audience and get a good readership if your blogs are lengthier, without compromising on the quality of the content. I think that is the best way to get traction and more readership.
Why to use adsense when you can build an email list or sell some affiliate products .In my opinion adsense its a waste of time as you would make way more with affiliate marketing
I think it depends on the niche. Some niches are great for affiliate marketing, while others are not that good. Ads can be a complementary source of income, but I wouldn't rely only on it.
If you can build up the traffic, I highly recomend EZOIC -- they offer a much higher eCPM in my experience!
I agree with @jrbiz Reader's attention span is getting smaller and smaller. Although SEO requires you to have longer pages, but most people will not care to read the whole thing. I also agree with @Spartan14 You can do much better with affiliate marketing than with adsense. Even better is if you can have your own product to sell, even if its just an ebook or something like that. If you have 1000 visitors a day, and you make $20 a month in adsense, then you can make $100 or more with your own product with that same traffic. Numbers are not real, jus for comparison.
