I am not sure what you mean by the word "Medium." Do you mean "Media" Marketing as in Public Relations? Need a bit more explanation to provide help.

Nope they mean Medium.com - the platform. Hackernoon started from there.

Also, I have tried various things on Medium but the one story that really got traction was a guide and it was so detailed that people gave my most no. of claps on it. Besides that you have to interact with other people's content, follow them, comment on other stories. If you are really looking to make an impact then I'd suggest you to get the paid account. Most people are still using free ones.

You know what's funny? Before I replied, I googled "Medium for Marketing" (not in quotes) and these folks did not even show up. Got a bunch of PR technology and agency links. These folks do not show up even though they have the one-word domain name. Obviously, not any good for SEO.

Well they are not really FOR marketing. It is a platform that serves people as a space for writing their content about anything, literally anything. The mistake is in your search query because you are googling "medium for marketing". Had you searched medium only, you would have gotten the platform instantly. :p

Also, I dont think you know what you are talking about. :D

Many people use Medium for marketing their service/product whatever it is they are selling, just like they use Fb, Insta, Twitter, etc. So, medium.com is itself a platform. :)

Umm..no! It is actually great once you get the hang of it.

Medium is a very exclusive resource and you have to create extremely useful, relevant and unique content to thrive there. but the tool has some advanced features which are available through a paid version. You should only use it if you have enough experience with blogging.

So what you are saying is that people who are new to blogging or have no experience, should not use it.
    I totally disagree with you.

No, you can use the free version. Paid version lets you read a lot of content that is being shared on the site. You can still get an audience on free version if your writing style is good and once you get contacted by any publication as contributor. You can do a great deal from there. Just like I said Hackernoon didn't even have a site. It started from Medium and just like that there are so many great examples of writers.

Do Try to Get at Least 100 “Claps” Within the First Hour of Publishing
Build your audiences on Facebook and Twitter so you can drive all followers to your Medium article simultaneously when you hit “publish.”
Place paid advertising on social networks.
Build your following on Medium and follow other people, too.
