We have that same phrase here in Indiana.

Didn't get snow here that I noticed. Just rain. But I've seen snow as late as May here some years. Rare but it happens.

It was a mild winter. I didn't even need to bring the snow shovel out of the barn.

Down below in town the snow has been gone for about a month now. But up where I live (4,900 feet elevation) there is still a lot of snow. I just have to drive 15 minutes down the mountain and I am in spring. It is supposed to be 14 C. (60 F.) today. My tulips are poking through the snow, robins are everywhere and the sky is full of Canada geese honking as they fly back from the south.

Wow, you are almost a mile high like Denver! Do you require a special carburetor for your vehicle or special HVAC systems due to the thinner air? I am hoping that this slight freeze and snow has stunted the growth of the poison ivy that grows in a backyard neighbor's yard and eventually makes it over the fence to me by mid-summer.

Our neighbors to the south in Washington state and next door Alberta province have to adjust their snowmobiles, but there doesn't seem to be an issue with vehicles. But some low landers do get light headed from the lack of oxygen. We have Canada's highest restaurant which is perched at 7,890 feet. One has to use the cable car gondola to access it.
My other home is in Whistler and it is also quite high as to elevation.

Many years ago, I took a flight from my home area in Boston (at sea level) and flew to Denver, rented a car and drove to the top of Rocky Mountain State Park, (which I think is around 14,000 feet in altitude) all in the same day. When I got out of the car, I literally saw stars. I am probably not cut out to be a Sherpa.

It's not really comparable with your weather, but we had a 25F drop the other day. The night before we swam in our pool and then the next morning we had to wear light jackets, but by noon it was hot again. I just hope and pray that we don't enter an early hurricane season this year. It's going to be tough for some folks if we do. Needless to say the economy is terrible, the hurricane season can make it much, much worse.

It was mid-afternoon in Colorado because of the time difference from the east coast. And the stars were circling very close around my head. :)

This was a loooong time ago, before legalization. Didn't need it then, either. The "star show" was enough for me. :)

Yeah, we get snow and you get hurricanes (occasionally, we get them, too.) Let's hope that the economy is back on track before we get into that part of the season.

I like your west coast model tinfoil hat. The way it glows in the dark and I think the strob/black light option is cool...man.

Are tulips at danger from the snow? I used to plant them here but stopped some 20 years back.

Out here people cover their tulips with snow to protect them from frost.

Man that weather in your area is surely driving you crazy. Imn my case it could be worse than yours. Either way I do not let some weather drive me nuts. What I hate is the hot temperatures. All the other weather conditions just make me feel good. Just get a serious fan for th hot weather, take of your clothes and let it blow. It is very relaxing. You will be sleeping in no time.

Where you find yourself is where you are. It may be hard for you because of the weather bu the people that stay there have been there for qute a long time. They certainly dont complain about the waether. Sometimes you just have to be strong. The more you complain about the weather the worse it will get. Learn to adapt to your soroundings.

I am seeing the continued need for my tinfoil hats. Nice to have a business serving people with such obvious needs. :)

^^^ Just because it is now legal in Colorado does not mean that one ought to smoke it all the time.
