Hi all, I recently changed the whole website with a blog for a new website. That means I replaced the old site with a brand new site. What do I need to do to make Google index make my new website faster and delete old data from serp?
If you changed the niche of the domain, then this is a very bad move. Anyways, old site will get deleted by google automatically, need not worry about it too much.
It's not a good idea to do this. Much better to put new content on a new site, which will get better SEO results than making a lot of changes on an old site. Chris
OK, I understand. As much as possible, keep the existing URL's and update the CONTENT itself. For any old content which you cannot update, make sure you redirect the old URL's to the most relevant new content before deleting the old content. Hope that helps Chris
In the future keep in mind that the old the site it is the better it is in google eyes and it will give him better rankings than new ones
If you did not change niche also then it would be better, Because if your old site is related to "A" niche and now you are planing from any other niche by your blog means you are going to work very harder. For quick response from search engines, create webmasters tools account. If already exist then submit your new website sitemap there and delete old one if exist. Google will read new sitemap ASAP and overlap old URL with new URL in SERPs after some time.
