Which name sounds OK for a talent matching platform?

Please help me choose a name for a talent to job matching platform, which we're working on.

Now you're going to get 8 different opinions. Personally, I like SkillTerritory.

 

When getting a domain,
1. Try to keep the domain short,

2. Avoid using long words where people can make spelling mistakes (not everyone is good at English)

3. Avoid using "dash" and numbers as much as possible.
These are easier to type and remember, but make it difficult to tell the domain to someone verbally.

4. Try to get a domain which is easier to remember.


With that said, I'd go with SkillHoppers.
Easy to remember, easy to tell, easy to type, acceptable length (not too long).

I would have gone with SkillBun, but its not very catchy, and is slightly confusing too.

Here are a couple more suggestions, available in .NET and.ORG tld.
1.ExpertAt (Expert at)
2. TalentJam (talent jam)
3. SkilledAt (skilled at, not so good because uses a "ed" version of "skill", easily confused)
4. SkillToJob (skill to job)
5. TalentToJob (talent to job)


I like first two.
However, there is another website TalentJam.com in same niche, so avoid this one.

SkillHoppers sounds the best for me because I can imagine the skill hoping away from one person to the other as they teach each other something new.

 

I would not recommend to register anything except .COM if you are not network provider or non-profit organization

Internet is not starting just now.
I'm guessing many millions of .NET and .ORG extensions have been registered by individual webmasters who are neither network providers, nor non-profit organizations.

And if you only want a .COM domain, then ask all those black market traders of domains to release the domains they are not using, but are simply holding to resale a $7 .COM domain for $7000...
Check the first one I suggested, ExpertAT.com
No site there, selling it for $3000

You cannot find a decent .COM domain these days unless you are very lucky.

There are many valuable com domains, just sitting! Am not sure how feasible it's get it released for a decent price!

I know. Everytime I go to register a .com domain, 99.99% times either the domain is not available, or is marked as premium domain for sale at HUGE price.
Unfortunately, this black marketing of domains cannot be stopped either, otherwise legit site sellers will find it very difficult to transfer site plus domains to the new buyer.

Most of your people will ALWAYS associate your domain and brand as a .com. Sorry while this sucks it's what we have been drilled into our heads since the mid 90s. This isn't changing anytime soon. Even the cool domains like instagr.am those companies still own instagram.com... If your website ever takes off and I hope it does you will be forever chasing that .com and losing traffic to it.

 

Well, I have already registered a local domain, but it's not limited to local, so that's why going for a .com, I think there are many such platforms which operate globally yet not that big!
