That's actually not a good strategy and is against Google's guidelines.... backlinks from forums tend to be of a lower quality than all other types of links.
A backlink that Google cannot see as signature links are only viewable to registered users. And fair enough. It's hard to tell on this forum.
Exhaustive and shallow at the same time, also: page size is 17.3MB, it contains 52559 words (size of a novel). Doubt that can be considered user friendly.
I recently said this in another thread here, and am saying this here again. Google is hand picking domains from various niches, and if content from those domains is even remotely related to the search term, then those webpages get preference. Grammer of the language in which the webpage is written must be excellent. You can write a whole movie plot of an unrelated movie on the webpage, but do it in good English grammer. Below feedback is based on feedback from various other members of this forum itself. Google is ranking pages which are outdated. This is probably happening because google is giving more importance to older domains and older webpages, which have significant age factor behind them. So if you are looking for "New year 2020 fireworks show (city name)", then there is a high chance that you will find webpages from 2019 or even 2018 ranking higher, and barely any result from 2020 itself. Google has mixed 2 different terms, thinking that they are similar so same results can be served for both. So if you are looking for "some keyword" and "some keyword last 3 months", then you will see the same result, may be sorted differently, but will be pretty much same webpages. All in all, results are starting to suck, from a searcher point of view, and I am seeing myself using engines like Bing and DuckDuckGo more and more. Eventually more and more people will start using those engines, so for 2020, think about SEO for those engines also.
I fully agree with Jeet. Basically it's all about having an eye on Google updates, and understand them in a right and sensible way, and then take actions accordingly... Whether it's backlink profile, or Grammer and Better Language or Unique Content itself. I have not planned yet but certainly, I am going to spend some time and do some RND on google ranking methods this year!
Video marketing is one of your best bets. YouTube must be a part of your SEO strategy. Many video marketing tools can help you in getting high quality traffic to your website. Posting regular videos on trending topics on your YouTube channel is a great way of generating tons of high-quality traffic. Keep in mind that the average length of YouTube's most popular videos is 3 min. so keep it short and crispy. Google MY Business is another important resource. Claim your local business listing here and set up your own quick and simple website for your listing. Google Sites is another decent website builder you can checkout.
Yeah, I recently installed tor and default SE is duckduckgo and I have to say the search results are decent.
Good content will always be the king! Will always attract new leads, traffic. You can twist it, once you know the game.
Although backlinks are helpful, I agree with Todman that content is just as or if not more important. Once you have great content, you will definitely see an increase in traffic. Content doesn't just end on your website though, think about the content on your youtube channel and the potential that has linking back to your site..
New generation of great writers is ahead. This time not because of talent and capability, because of traffic.
