Does anyone here have any experience with getting links? Do you ask for them, or is there any other way to get them? And if you ask, how?
You ask for them after you've built a rapport with the other site's owner. Emails asking for links when there is no prior relationship get marked as spam.
Does commenting and liking posts, plus linking to the other site from your own blog, counts as building a rapport?
It all depends on how you do it. Make it seem natural and then it is, make it look like you're using them and it isn't.
Link Exchange - You ask for a link to your site and in return you post a link of their website. But there is other methods, pm me.
Getting links can be hard or can be easy..... You want to get links blogging, you can if you do it right.Any blog you can currently leave a link on whenever you want is useless. Don't waste your time. Instead find blogs in your niche that are human maintained. Here you participate on the blog, and you develop a relationship. Then you stand a better chance of getting a link that will actually be worth something. You can also get links from Universities. These are going to cost you. You create a small scholarship and donate it to the university. They create a list of links where you can get a scholarship and post it on the university site. It's 3C501, tax deductible. So you get a tax break and the link is free after all is said and done. What some do if they're really impatient, like a lot of folks are, they buy PBN links. The issue here is that PBN's work, some longer than others, some shorter than others. FYI - When Penguin first hit the net folks would use PBNs and rank sites extremely quickly, make as much cash as they could before the PBN is detected. Then the site would get banned. They then rinse and repeat by creating another site. Spend 200 on links, make 3000, site gets burned ! These sites were commonly referred to as "Churn and Burn".
If you are interacting with their blog/content, they are much more likely to recognize you and link back. Another idea is to ask them for input on an article you are working on. If you quote them there is a good chance they link back to you.

There's a certain way to ask for backlinks. However, begging for them is not the way to go. Have you tried getting started with blog commenting for backlinks? Find niche related blogs and get involved. Offer value in your comments and you'll get links. Use the skyscraper technique and find related articles. Find out who is linking to those related articles, then send them an email explaining how your article is better (in a sense, without being rude). Those two ideas should get you started.
I've been commenting a lot on related blogs, and offering value in the comments, but no backlinks yet. I'll try to skyscraper technique, though. Thanks.
You can comment on blogs that allow blog comments, and a link to your website. This is the easiest way to get backlinks to your blog. Make sure your comments are genuine helpful comments, or questions, and not spam. Good luck
you can ask for links. write a good article that webmasters would want to link to and reach out to them and let them know about your content and ask if they could link to you. If your content is useful for their readers they might send you a link. You can also get a list of related websites in your niche that you want links from and check for dead links on their sites. Google "broken link checker" and go through your list of sites. If you find any 404 outbound links that your content can substitute, contact them and let them know that they have a dead link to a site that is not around anymore and that it is bad for their SEO, and let them know that you have an article about the same thing that they can refer to instead and ask them if they want to link to you. oftentimes, it works better that way because you help them out.
You need to write qualitative and link-worthy content, create Skyscraper content which is a link building strategy, need to start Guest blogging which is a true way to introduce your business, comment on high-quality blogs to get backlinks.
An effective way (that has been working for me) is to do guest blogging for blogs that provide those opportunities. However, take the time and effort to write quality articles for the website and you will surely get a backlink to your website.
My problem with this is they never seem to reply. Do you have to message loads of webmasters to get this?
Well according to me instead of buying paid links we should try to get natural genuine links which are readily acceptable by Google. Thanks in advance!
I recommend using Twitter to connect with other bloggers in your niche. Not only can you help each other by sharing each other's content and growing your Twitter following, but you can eventually develop friendships with these people that can turn into guest posts/backlinks.
Do guest posting. It's very effective and gets quality backlinks for your website. You just need to know how to outreach by other sites and how to search related niches on google. And another one is forum posting this is also a very good and effective way to getting quality backlinks quickly.
