Watch should not be called watch today. They are more and more diverting towards other functionality like automation, alerts, news, etc. They should be called something else. Watches primary function was to tell time and direction.
The same could be said for your phone... mine makes relatively few phone calls compared to the other functions it serves.
I wear a watch but not one of these smart watches or digital watches. And I do not wear it as a fashion statement. I have started to intentionally leave my mobile phone at home. It has changed my life. I appreciate having time alone for example going to a cafe and reading a book or going for a walk in nature without interruptions. Many of us are so reliant on our phones but there truly is so much more in to the world than social media or playing Candy Crush...
Well said. I have a millionaire friend that doesn't watch TV & doesn't know how to connect the wires to watch TV. Yes I saw him calling someone to help him switch on the Tv. I guess these gadgets rob our real social experience with one another and they should have their appropriate place.
The scary thing is that for the upcoming generations this will be 'reality'. They will be addicted to their phones, not realise this and consider it to be reality. When you study the most exceptional people, you realise that one of the key contributors to their success was that their habits and routine were very different from the norm (which starts with taking time away from digital distraction to breathe, think, meditate, etc...)
Have always worn a watch, have adopted the new smart watch wave though haha. Gotta stay with the times
