    1. A hacked website, blacklisted for malwares with low reputation affect the SEO ranking
    2. A website hosted with poor IP reputation can also affect the ranking scheme.
    3. As far as I know, a sluggish website might not be indexed well for SEO ranking process.
    4. Any website with poor contents will not be ranked.
5 Any websites with malicious redirections or a non-existent url also adversely affect the ranking.
    6. Inappropriate key words / lazy contents may also affect the SEO indexing.
    7. Enabling compression on website contents like .css, java scripts etc also necessary for indexing.

Apart from these, there are a lot of things should be considered on server performance side along with the SEO techniques.
The website should be well optimized by a developer and the contents should be hosted on good server with high Uptime status.
An SEO specialist can make wide range suggestions on rules to improve the website ranking with the SE.

Hosting can impacted your ranking and traffic both.

    1. if the person who comes to a shop and that shop is not open then he will leave and look for other shop that means your bounce is high according to rankbrian algo now so called bert update will notice this and push your results further down.
    2. You will loose traffic if you are not using a cloud hosting or switch to cloud servers like amazon aws or google cloud and try to use CDN (Content delivery network) service for best results.

Siteground is recommend for site speed by a lot of people, in fact it got #1 In 34 Facebook Polls - check Tom's OnlineMediaMasters.com site speed guide for proof: https://onlinemediamasters.com/siteground-wordpress-hosting-review/

My site speed decreased from 6 seconds to about 2-3 seconds just by changing host and installing a caching plugin.

Although your hosting provider well not DIRECTLY impact your SEO, the quality of your site's hosting will have a definite indirect impact on your ranking.

Although the site loading speed will have a negligible immediate impact on your rankings, factors that will have an impact on your rankings include:

    Bounce rate
    average visit length
    Engagement
    social signals
    Returning visitors

Studies have shown that most people will give up on a site that will not load within a few seconds and never returned to that site again. "Pogo-ing" as it is referred to will have a definite negative impact on your SEO, a high bounce rate, below average visit length, low engagement, very little mention of you away from your site and very few people returning give search engine the impression that your site provides a poor user experience. this will most definitely cause you're rankings to plummet.

Therefore, If your hosting provider is not providing quality service, leaving you with slow load times and a lot of website down time, yes it will ultimately negatively impact your rankings even if it's not the direct cause.

and by the way, being on shared hosting will not negatively impact your hosting no matter what types of other sites happen to be hosted on the same server, that's a bunch of nonsense. Google is quite familiar with shared hosting

Not directly but since it will impact your site's speed, it can definitely cause issues for your site's performance, which will impact your site's ranking, so yes it can affect your SEO indirectly.

The majority of that speed improvement was most likely because you added the caching.

Google doesn't care about Hosting. It's just a user matter. Like Security, problem fact, price, etc.

    Hey there!
Technically speaking a bad hosting provider may impact the quality of your website's SEO. But not in a straightforward way. Things such as uptime, load speeds, safety & security, etc all matter to a site's quality. If any of these things are hampered due to poor service by your web hosting service provider then it affects your overall website's quality and the visitors/users experience thus ultimately affecting your website's SEO quality.
    Thank you...

Absolutely not. Hosting can impact your viewers if it's slow or having loading issues but for Google, it will be just a site like others. Only link-building techniques can do a bad or good impact on site ranking.

I wouldn't say it, as I don't know examples where that was the case, algorithms usually don't judge sites based on their hosting services, so I think you can't make mistakes there, finding a confident and good hosting provider is more important for other things such as stability and performances of your site, but it won't affect SEO itself.

    Absolutely!,
If your service area and Target Audience is not relevant to the server situation will result less in productive it affect the speed as well the loading time it will not suppor the location.

How about location. If your service is local, for example in Canada, then your hosting should be in Canada as well. Not in US or other country. Anyone has a knowledge about that aspect of hosting?

No matter what hosting you pay for, Google does not judge your site based on it.
Yeah, but these two main points before choosing a hosting plan will help you get a fast loading website.

1: You should always choose a hosting that offers a global CDN or datacenter close to your location.
2: You should always check the uptime of the hosting.

If your budget is tight, consider a cheap hosting plan integrated with Cloudflare.

Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
