He who seeks wealth must abide by this rule: THINK LONGTERM.

Nobody can get wealthy in a business opportunity that folds up after a few ephemeral years in business. I off course need to state the obvious that, I do not know, if your file-sharing business will fold up or not.

What I do know; is that, the full force of the law has painted a huge, red crosshair on the file-sharing business model. In 2012, the FBI’s shutdown of MegaUpload produced a cascade of voluntary closures. In less than 48hours, the then big names like oron.com, filesonic.com and fileserve.com quickly closed shop. And they did it voluntarily.

RapidShare which had vowed to stay in the game forever; closed shop in 2015. RapidShare had been running a clean business. They went to extreme lengths to keep suspicious content off their servers. User accounts were swiftly banned for the slightest DMCA violation. In the end, those precautions proved insufficient. Alas! Rapidshare is no longer with us. They put up a fierce and arduous fight but eventually buckled under the weight of costly and ceaseless legal battles.

Currently, there is no file-sharing service in the marketplace with either the stature of MegaUpload or RapidShare. With the increased tightening of copyrights and DMCA (Digital Media Copyrights Act) statutes, there is very little chance of file-sharing ever re-gaining its former prominence.

There is no reason for file-sharing to ever become profitable again. There are just too many free alternatives out there.

PORNOGRAPHY was the principal driving force that lured and enticed men to purchase file-sharing accounts. And the sale of file-sharing accounts is the reason why anyone launches a file-sharing service. This is the main and often only way; in which, the owners of the file-sharing business make their money.

In 2018, can you SERIOUSLY think of anyone, buying a file-sharing account; in order to download porn; especially vanilla porn. All kinds of porn videos and even full porn movies are freely available on Pornhub.com, xhamster.com, xvideos.com, etc. New sites like beeg.com exclusively stream high quality HD videos.

    What about mainstream movies?
A few years ago, people had to download mainstream movies from torrent sites (piratebay, kickasstorrents, etc) and peer-to-peer forums. Today, you can live stream movies directly from sites like putlocker or solarmoviez.ru. I watched the HD version of "Blade Runner 2049 (2017)" on live stream just two weeks after it got released in the theaters.

    What about your favorite songs?
You can literally rip the latest songs off YouTube.com. If you don’t like ripping songs off YouTube.com, there are dozens of apps out there that will allow you to download songs for free from iTunes.

Does anyone still need a file-sharing account; in order to download porn, mainstream movies or songs?

Yes, there is as much need for file-sharing accounts as there is for VHS cassette tapes.

The file-sharing business model has as much viability as the resuscitation of dinosaurs.

I 100% agree with all of this... people can just make a mega.nz account (Which holds 50GB for free users) and a adfly or linkbucks account to mask the link till people have waiting the 5 seconds to move to the link download and make money that way.

I have a suggestion! You need to completely re-think your business model. You should preferably get yourself into a different industry.

Hostingrill died due to the teams stupidity. We focused on filehosting as PPD rather than PPS ... As the industry was dying at that time and only PPS survived.
Regarding your other comment above Video Hosting sites offering PPV will always stay alive but the cost of operating them is quite high due high end servers required for video conversion and good amount of bandwidth required ...
We had a free video hosting as well and just because it was free it died if we made it into a PPV it would have survived until now...
Our most regret is Imgrill ... the image hosting we were making something that could ruin the whole industry it was a mix of imgur / flikr and other popular image hosts but it died in development and the company had to close shop... We are still looking to start Grill Publisher Network again but there arnt that many opportunities

The internet is a constantly evolving environment.
New venues open up while others become deprecated.
Myspace goes away and facebook comes up.
Peerfly goes away and paykickstart comes up.

When an industry dies; it dies. Sometimes, tweaks here and there can save a business model within a dying industry. When it comes to file-sharing; I really don't think PPD vs PPS makes any difference.
