I love IE7. I used to use Firefox alot more, when I had IE6, but since IE7 I've not used Firefox at all. No need to now it has tabbing, which is the only reason I went to Firefox in the first place.
Anyone who likes IE has never written a line of code for the web. IE slows down the development of web applications like no other.
I tried it out by accepting the update on my boss's computer. He complained about the toolbar and asked if I could change it p; I am sticking with FireFox because of standards compliance, my extensions, and because I want my browser to be updated when a dangerous bug gets out.
Yah, I like the tabbed browsing, but that's about it. See GamingFonts.com in i.e. 6, then look at it in i.e. 7 (the header gets screwed up in 7, but works correctly in 6. Really odd...
Hey I m in love with IE7, I am not sure why u guys dont like it, Its way better then anything else. Never faced any problem or webpage display mismatch. Maybe some of you experienced beta versions.
I read IE7 may require your MS system has Service Pack 2 first. but not everyone can do the upgrade so .... IE 7 S.....ucks .......... If it is true then I think there are going to have more people will give up IE for good.
I think it's the change that's got most people - now that it's coming as an automatic update I don't think we have much choice but to say good-bye to the older versions... that's not a bad thing though. I must say, now that I've had it for a few weeks, it's starting to grow on me. Sure there are still parts that I don't like - like the refresh button being way over on the right-hand side and I'm not sure about the favorites buttons... I really do like the image resizing option though. That's cool.
I tried IE7, and it crashes like crazy for me Also, for anyone involved in SEO, Firefox is so much better, given all the awesome SEO extension it has. I can't live without Search Status, and NoScript (this one is not SEO-related). Also, there's Aaron Walls SEO extension for Firefox. So it's not just about tabbed browsing, not for me anyways. Also, IE and Microsoft have a dreadful security and vulnerability record. So it's Firefox for me. And finally, I really love kittens Warkot PS: Also, as far as I know, Matt Cutts and Andy Jenkins and Aaron Wall use Firefox, not to mention others
I just intelled IE7 from IE6 and it works great so far... I like the tabs instead of lauching a new browser...
This posting is rather related to developers than to SEO pro's, but I hope the moderator will let it stay. I'd like report an anoying bug in IE7, which I already reported to MS and expect it to be fixed (don't know how soon though...) The bug concerns AJAX technology. As you know AJAX is a bunch of JS+XML+XMLDOM ActiveX objects (as in the IE implementation). Now picture that you have a HTML page that has some inline Javascript that implements the AJAX technology and it runs every time you load the page. So, when you just open the page (from a referring URL or by direct link - doesn't matter) it works allright, the JS loads an XML from the server etc. But if you open some link from this page and then go back (by hitting the Back button in IE), the JS doesn't perform! You have to refresh the page in order to have it performed again. This issue doesn't exist in Firefox or Opera. It is a pure IE issue.
Another issue that exists in IE of all versions is a famous problem with displaying images with 0x0 dimensions (developers know that for roll-over menus that is a good idea to load all menu pictures on the background, which enables them to replace the "regular" menu pictures without delays caused by the time needed to load the picture with the onMouseOver first call). So, the image with 0x0 dimensions are still displayed as a dot, which is actually 1x1. MS has no solution for this issue, so developers usually put such images inside a <div style="visibility:hidden"> tag. But the issue still exists...
i've had some issues with the above problem that senpai posted. its a pain, and i wish i could figure out how to pwn it.
Warkot, thanks for those extensions.... I think I will give firefox another try this coming year... I didnt like it at first but now with IE7 which I cant stand (bad toolbar, crashing, etc.) I think it may be time to switch...
