Adwords. Still worthwhile?

    Hi,
I have been absent for the board for almost a decade. Back, when I was active, amongst other things, I ran Adwords campaigns as an Amazon affiliate.
Coming back today, I see that the Adwords section of the forum appears less active that it used to be. This leads me to ask if Adwords is still worth a go? Is is still viable for pushing one's niche, or as an affiliate?
Sorry if the questions seem daft, but I am just brainstorming with the hope to getting back into online marketing and the like.
    Thanks in advance.

    tsc,

As you've likely noticed, a lot has changed with Google PPC over the years: A new name, a new interface, new features, etc.

Competition is more fierce, but Google still rewards better CTRs with higher Quality Scores and lower average CPCs.

Google Ads (Adwords) traffic quality is still top-notch, IHMO.

Cheers, thanks for that. Have been doing a bit of catch-up research over the last day. was just curious as this section of the board seems awfully quiet to how I remember it.

Google is still the #1 player so you do have to play by their rules. More and more ads are taking up the search results, pushing organic way down the page. If you need discovery traffic, Ads is really the way to go.

    Hello,

Some factors in Google Ads like their quality score, a metric used by them to measure the quality and relevance of your keywords and ad copy. Sorting your KWs by quality score can aid you in seeing a great improvement in ROI, and if you take some time aside to read a blog that was very useful to me, you might get some answers to your doubts on Google Ads!

Hi, thanks for that, I'll keep this in mind.
A month after returning to DP I am still researching and thinking about what I want to do. No need to rush. Am here for the long haul :)

Don't confuse low activity in this forum with the popularity and worthiness of Adwords. It's just that people found other forums. I myself have come here today for first time in many months, mainly because there's little activity. I see the same at WF which was even more active than DP but now we hear crickets. It just may be that people found better ones or don't need these forums as much having found information elsewhere in the form of books or courses.

Always worth it. If you are smart in choosing long tail keywords
    have a good budget
    add only exact match keyword
