Advantage of Holiday Season

    Dear friends,

I am trying to do a bit of analysis. There are few ways to sell your products:
    • Create a website, market at myspace, bring traffic & sell
    • Create a website, build links, rank in top 10 in G, Y, MSN, bring traffic & sell
If any of you took the advantage of the holiday season to sell your product, market your site, what was your strategy (if you think that your strategy is some top secret then its fine). But the first timers - what did you do? How many months did it take you to rank in top 10 during this shopping season? Or did you bombard MySpace and made some or big bucks?

In short - how did you take advantage of the holiday season?

bombardng myspace when you're selling something isn't always the easiest thing because the average user doesn't visit Myspace with a credit card on their hands. My holiday marketing started too late ths year (i slept through october and early novemeber) But, it's been OK..not that bad given the time I didn't have...I basically had fun experimenting with the wonders of SEO. (white hat)

How about those affiliate marketers? How did you bring traffic and/or generate income?

Huh, I really didn't do anything different for the Holiday. I guess I stepped up my link building and other basics, as to keep up with the market...but nothing out of the ordinary.

I've tried the MySpace thing and I'm struggling with it. I suppose it just takes time.

Change CPC ad copy to reflect your "Holiday Sales", CTR jumps :).

In the copy for the the CPC ads, instead of saying "Buy Purple Widets" try "Purple Widget Holiday Sale" or "Purple Widget Gifts". Although right now we have to change them all back.
