I am confused. Till this day i believed in PR has influence on site traffic or SERPS in search engines. Is it true? How many agree?
Here we go again... PR is based on a formula that counts quantity and PR of links pointing to your page. The more links, generally the higher PR. If those links have good anchor text, you generally get better SERPs. If you get better SERPs you generally get more traffic. So... No PR itself does not give you better rankings or more traffic. But yes, often a higher PR means better rnakings and more traffic. You need to be able to tell what comes first and why and how they are related.
PR appears to affect how often a site gets cached. The higher the page rank, the more frequently a site is indexed.
Truly said. I heard somewhere that PR had influence in the past 2-3 yrs ago, not anymore. not sure how many would agree?
I believe PR will bring you a higher rank, if it is greater than that of other sites ranking for the given keywords.
If that was true then SERPS would be ordered by PR... Yet they are not. If PR is a factor (real PR, Not toolbar PR, Toolbar PR is completely worthless) then it will be a minor factor in a list of 200+ factors.
In fact , Page Rank is nothink . Page Rank is only a number which is calculated with a formula . If you want to get better results on serp , you must optimize your site and find backlinks
PR was a cause of your effort of building backlinks...i agree with TOPS30 that it is through anchor text which uses your targeted keywords you might well rank on it and gather good traffic...
There are a multitude of factors "COMBINED" that influence and or dictate SERPS. PR is a part of it, but it is neither the largest or smallest piece of the puzzle. Content has always been king. Though google searches tend to rely on sites that completely lack it when it comes to relevant searches as of late, that is.. Hey, YMMV.
yeah is does in many suppose u r competing with a site for same keyowrds but your site would be listed high in SERPS in u hv a Hgher PR
High PR helps, but does not determine the position in the serps. Text in links is a factor, on page keywords are a factor, links on related subjects are a factor, age of the site is a factor, how recently the page has changed is a factor.
No, PR does not affect you rankings directly. And yes, it does affect how frequently a site is indexed. Moreover, toolbar PR is a lousy metric. People are just too obsessed with it. Real PR is updated in real time, but nobody knows what it is, so... no use fretting about it Focus on traffic and sales, not PR. Focus on your users, use good old marketing. Offer value. And forget about PR Warkot
I will not say that it plays on your traffic directly, but it's good to have a high PR, since everyone think PR is the thing.
There has been several threads in this regard. PR has nothing to do with SERP's is what is repeatedly said and is very true. concentrate on links from related sites rather than just thinking on building on PR. Abhilash.
I can imagine that PR has no effect on SERP nowadays, but i think there are lot of factors which has great influance on ranking, can be measured indirectly by PR eg domain age.
