Working Hard Since 5 Years But Ranking is Still Down

Discussion in 'SEO' started by Sheraz Khan Baloch, Dec 2, 2018.

    Hi,
I have a website https://www.theacademicpapers.co.uk/. I have been working on it since 2013 and have done lot of work on it. I had been on top positions with all keywords. However, since last year, my keyword positions were down. Since that time, I am working hard to achieve my positions even I used the best SEO techniques to recover my positions but still there is no change. The main thing is that, I have worked hard with keyword "Coursework Writing Services" "Assignment Writing Services" and "Essay Writing Services" but still there keywords are between 50 to 100 positions. On the other side, I am working on fresh websites but still there is no positive impact and nothing new backlinks are discovered by Google.

Any Suggestion Please.. Please help me out to get ride of this situation.

A wild guess: have you migrated your website from nonsecure http to secure https? If not, you'll start to lose ground with Google.

First off, you have over 500 pages indexed in Google. My guess is you don't need most of them. Keep only the few you need and delete or redirect the rest. They're dead weight. This alone can sometimes heavily improve traffic.

You have a ton of backlinks. Was this an expired domain you bought? You need to audit your backlinks and disavow all the irrelevant/low quality links. This is going to take a while but is an important step to recovery.

When did you last update your content? How long is your content? Updating old content and adding more detail can help. Now, there are plenty of sites with evergreen content that hasn't been updated for ages ranking well, but when you're seeing a decline this can help.

Give those a shot and you'll be on your way.

I checked out the https://www.theacademicpapers.co.uk/ homepage, there are several grammatical errors starting with the very first sentence of the intro. I wonder whether some potential clients might be put off by the errors and leave. The website is about academic writing services after all. Is the site bounce rate healthy?

The first sentence/question of the intro:
Why are you worried about academic writing when our best academic writing company, is there to offer academic writing help.

Firstly, this sentence is a question so it should end with a question mark.
Secondly, the comma usage is incorrect.

There are several more grammatical mistakes throughout that page, I hope they are corrected soon in order to regain the confidence of potential clients. Grammar is not of great importance in certain niches, but in this one, I think it is.

Let me get this straight. You are wanting to sell your writing skills to people needing academic papers written. Yet YOUR writing skills, as evidenced by your page, are SEVERELY short of what those people expect. And you want to write for them? Maybe you should HIRE THEM TO WRITE FOR YOU since I doubt that very many will want papers filled with errors that will impact their futures in a negative way.

First thing you need to do if you want to write academic papers is to LEARN PROPER GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION, ETC. for the English Language. Until you do that you will find most people needing academic papers WILL BOUNCE FROM YOUR SITE WITHIN SECONDS.

ATMD is exactly right! It's vitally important for an "academic" website to be well written, with perfect grammar, spelling, punctuation, and word usage. The error many website owners make is publishing a website with good SEO but substandard English. I suggest that web writers who are not expert in English should hire a carefully chosen copy writer who has excellent writing skills. Otherwise, visitors to a website (myself included) will often leave in seconds if they encounter clumsy or faulty copy.

It would appear elementary and obvious. A case in point would be post #1, the author is in dire need of said services.

No irony was lost from the title of this very thread.

Working Hard Since 5 Years But Ranking is Still Down

Here is an explanation for when to use "since" and "for" when talking about duration.

You probably got hit by a Google Algorithm update, it is very hard to recover from this ones if you implemented all kind of SEO techniques that worked in the past.

The only comment I would take seriously is from Luq. Obviously you can improve your spelling but that is an easy fix and shouldn't be criticized upon.

Another thing I would add from Luq is to check your links. The links of each individual posts need to basically target a keyword that you want e.g. /harvard-law-guidelines VS /blog/posts/harvardlaw(*^(*&%*(%

Say what? He is targeting ACADEMIC customers, so the FIRST thing that needs to be done is to STOP his target customers from bouncing. Fixing ANYTHING before that is like chasing the wind.

And is it NOT just spelling. It is sentence CONSTRUCTION, PUNCTUATION, word FLOW and so on. That is NOT an easy fix for someone that is not proficient in English.

Once the BOUNCE RATE problem is solved, THEN and ONLY THEN can other issues be resolved. Putting the cart before the horse NEVER works.

you have to look at your website how search spider see it. google there a ton of sites and tools to test here I just tried this one
    http://www.browseo.net/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theacademicpapers.co.uk%2F

I dont see the main keywords you want to rank for in the TITLE TAG - Then you company name. move the important text more to top.
get. all the forms on top the page doesnt help. less info people cannot read it all at once anyway ;-)

and read that, having keywords in your domain name is not worth anything anymore and seen as spammy.

I also never seen so many H TAGS.

SEMRush has nice toool tha t will show you the laout and awhere your main keyword should be to beat the competion.

So got the site speed real gold, buthe t site looks outdate design. get some one on fiverr or here to put in on a modenr template.

you already know this one is not working ;-)

and also dont follow all the rulles, google changes them. and maybe you get lucky and what was wrong is now good.

Everyone points out the english errors (they will kill me ;-p)

buy i presume if someone needs a writting service its not a good writter and makes typos.

get some landing site sup witht those typos.
its easier to get nr #1 with a typo then correct word.
and what is the bottom line.
Being first of SERP or having traffic that converts?
I would even go black for those sites, Success !

This an impressive thread, I must admit that this forum has an outstanding editorial team, SEO specialists, and web techs. Thumbs up, guys.
now, to you Sherz, I recommend you consider the positive criticism and tips shared above. You can start using the free SEO evaluation tool mentioned by Ander https://www.browseo.net/,
A great idea that worked for me was updating my dead pages daily, adding a paragraph, removing the old time stamp, and including related news, data, or references (citations). Here is an example:
I had an article about the 2019 sighting of a remofish near the baltic sea. I resurrected this article by adding details of a new sighting in 2022 near the Mexican shores, added two new citations, one new h2 tag, 3 new paragraphs, included a new bulleted list, and two new anchor texts.
I then invited Google to reindex. I get an average of 6-8 hits daily, up from zero.

If you consider this tedious, you can always get a freelancer to help you. It is worth it.

    I hope I was helpful.
