It's been almost a decade since i use to frequent here. The P & R subforum is dead, i can't even post there. This place use to be so big and thriving from 07-10, i made friends here. Now this is really depressing If anyone here is from back then, give a holler
And why haven't you been here for a decade? because you've been on social media just like everyone else If it's fine for you to not use a forum why are you surprised that others feel the same way?
It hasn't changed much since 2012 when I first joined it. The BST area still seems to be pretty busy. I hear most people are getting sick and tired of social media. Who knows maybe they will start flocking back to forums, although I don't hold my fingers crossed.
I would love to see forums make a comeback. In fact, I still long for the days of listserv and email groups. There was an email group called Market-L that had some great members and their posts would come right into my email inbox to read and reply to. Those were the days...
No i wasn't affected by social media. I did that more before i left. I slowly dipped out due to more and more regulars leaving. I think i started using bodybuilding dot coms forum instead, then on to the chans. I have one friend's email from here who i will contact, but i see all the regulars i knew haven't been on in years. How to reach them? Wonder what the cost of a forum like this is
https://xenforo.com/purchase/ It's pretty easy to set up your own. It's much harder to get engagement.
Certainly, I used to watch that show. Of course, for you to make that connection, you must be a big fan. But, actually, that phrase brings to mind the song "Those Were the Days" by Mary Hopkin. I'm just showing my age now...
They used to air that show about 20 years ago using French sub titles back in France when I lived there. We would watch it and think to ourselves "Les Americans, sont-ils vraiment comma ca"? (Are Americans really like that"?)
Some, for sure. That is what made the show so popular here. You knew somebody like Archie, Edith, Meathead, Gloria, etc. Of course, here in the U.S. you can find a large group of ANY type of personality or persuasion. Say that one particular group you are looking for is a mere .01% (one hundredth of a percent) of the U.S. population. That group would still be 33,000 people. And given our immigration history and lack of homogeneity, we have just about any flavor group or personality you can imagine. And surely some that you could not imagine.
25 years ago cycling through Thailand and Malaysia. American women had a really bad reputation (the full moon parties won't have helped). We caught a ferry one day and they were screening back to back Chuck Norris and it "explained everything"!
Exactly I am totally agreed with you that peoples are moving to mobile apps. Now they are ignoring the forums.
Hi Actually no. This forum changed the rules drastically. From that time onwards max traffic was decreased. Previously i earned a lot from this forum. But this forum was dead now because of new rules implemented 5 to 6 years back
The only "drastic" change was going from 25 posts as the key to being "established" to having 3 likes - which could be done with one awesome post. Letting the community decide who had value seems like a good idea and even those who aren't "established" can still respond to a BST thread.
I am not having any like button etc on any thread, I am waiting for like but i did't have any. Please let me know how its possible for me?
Based on the above I would say impossible, but then again I have been known to be wrong before. (once or twice)
Hmm, I just checked your posts and I'm sorry to say the likeability level is extremely low at the moment.
