How to generate 40,000 clicks a month at $0.07 a click maximum?

    Hi Y'all!

I have a monthly budget of $2,800.00 for Adword. This is for 280 expected sales with a $10 per sale in CPC...

$2,800 x $0.07 a click will bring 40,000 visitors to my site. I need a 0.7% sales conversion rate to generate 280 sales out of the 40,000 visitors...

I will need to know if I can easily generate a campaign with a maximum bid of $0.07 per click. Will I be able to reach the volume of 1300 clicks a day?

    Am I into something?

    Thanks for your help!

So according to your calculations, you want to break even. Is it worth the trouble?

Lot depends on your market. I have been generating 1000s clicks at 0.01 (restrained by budget), but that may not be useful to you at all.

What you should check is how much is search volume of your keywords (use google trends or overture keyword tool) - that should give you the approximate size of your market. Then comes to the volume of competition (search your keyword in google and see how many ads you see)

    • (Yahoo/)Overture keyword tool: http://inventory.overture.com
    • Google Trends: http://trends.google.com - use it to compare it to some popular keywords (it will give you only relative information)
    • (Google adwords has tool for this - estimates traffic to your site for given bid+keyword) - perfect fit for your case

Then based on how good is your CTR you can estimate the traffic.

its hard to get 1300 clicks a day paying $0.07 ~ maybe you can reach this on content network but is impossible on search network.

So I would set the following objectives for you:

    Content network:
    650 clicks/day
    $0.07 ppc
    0.7% conversion rate

    Search network:
    650 clicks/day
    $0.70 ppc
    7.0% conversion rate

So, you may reach your objective now.

It may take about 3 months to reach these values, you will need to research a lot of keywords and optimize your campaign constantly.

Also I would begin only with Search network and activate content network as soon you reach its objectives.

    The theory $2,800 x $0,07 = 40.000 visitors is't easy... Don't forget your competitor budget per click.
    Remember!
You pay $0.07 per click BUT your copetitors pay more then that and google can't show your add normal or periodic(see on your adwords account at the bottom link right side).

I wouldn't say it's impossible. I got 12,881 clicks today for .06 each, only on the search network :)

Agreed - can be difficult but not impossible. One account I manage has generated over 10 million search clicks this year at an average of under $0.05per click.

Get your campaign rolling. That's the only way to really know what's possible and how the market shapes up.

I've had some success with misspelled keywords. One of my sites has a major keyword that is misspelled as often as it is spelled correctly. Shoemoney mentioned that he does a lot with misspells on Adwords and Adcenter but YSM isn't so friendly towards misspellings.

It's not easy though and most people will give up, run out of $ or both before they figure out how to make it work.

Wow! Is there a way to get $2800 bucks montly at 1 cent a click so? That would be 280,000 clicks, this seems impossible right? Do you have an idea how to generate keywords at a cheap price?

If you're building large targeted lists of multiple word phrases you should be able to bring in bulk traffic for a reasonable CPC.

Getting clicks cheap is not hard, getting converting clicks cheap is the challenge.
