Best advice for income method

Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice as i am in a situation that ive not been in before regarding websites. Ive also done some searching and im not so sure im coming across the right answers. Can anyone help me?

So at the moment ive been building a text based online browser game. I get about 10 members a month and this stems from about 50 unique hits which generate a total of between 1500-2000 page views. So low unique users but high content viewing.

What is the best way to turn this situation into a way to generate income?

I want to get this correct before i push my development further.

To be honest, your page views are way to low to even think about monitization methods. Wait till you are up around 30,000 page views per month. At that point, just selling ad space could make you about $300 to $400 a month.

 

Thanks for the input Rob, I'm hoping to get the right strategy in place from the beginning. As it's high pageviews but low unique users, e.g. today I've had over 600 page views from 4 unique users. Will selling add space be the best solution for this?

 

None of the good paying ad networks will advertise with you until you start getting some good traffic. You need about 1000 page views from at least 100 unique visitors a day before they will consider your site. Just work on building your audience and traffic. Worry about making money later once you have built your traffic up.

Why not sell the script itself? Sounds like it's something webmasters may want / be interested in.

 

Abort abort abort! Stop wasting time on projects that would have been smart before MySpace Apps discovered Flash. Remember Flash? Yeah it's been dead for years and MySpace hasn't had a member base for over a decade. You have a TEXT based game... it only has 10 new users a month and even then you aren't retaining the engagement... Think about that... You even said you want to "get this correct" before further development. That means you aren't even on board with your idea. You aren't a believer. The time has passed... Move on to something new and fresh.

 

I think you first have to invest by yourself in building the traffic on your website.
1) Advertise strongly your service and website.
2) Grow your website traffic to some huge number like 70k-80k a month.
3) Approach to some good networking site owners
4) Ask them for affiliate marketing.
I don't know if this is required to you or not but will surely help.

You can try to start with affiliate if you have any clients base.

 

In order to start monetization you have to gain lots of visitors, starting from 50.000 and more. So you have to promote your page somehow first - you can do that using social networks like Instagram or Twitter.
Then you can add affiliate program and wait for your income.
