Anybody tried this before. I just had to pay my popular friends to put the name of my website in their DP and name tag. Getting quite a steady traffic. I think there is this element of trust within this kinda marketing and gives a wide target audience. Also it might not cost you anything if you request them to also have it in theirs. And request their friends to have too if they find that site useful. I have got more than 1500 more visitors/week on a test page which to test this method. It might just become the new marketing scheme unless this has already been done.

I was looking for something more for like yahoo messenger and msn messenger. As those two are the key online social messaging systems, and if you have your ad displayed over there and hundreds of people see it every day, they will be compelled to ask. But now the question is there a way to make this type of marketing viral by any chance?
