Contest Logo Design Contest 72 Hours - $100 USD PayPal

Looking to get a logo done for a Web Design/Development company, we don't do logo design and hence need one created by you fine people

Business Name: BLM Media
Brand Colors: #4E78A0, ##F7F7F7 (The logo will be placed on top of a #4E78A0 color background)
Business Type: Web Design/Development Company
Target Audience: Small to medium sized businesses
Style: Professional but NOT corporate feel; even though I work with a designer, the business largely focuses on a personal level that they know it is run by myself and is not an agency, but at the same time it needs to be professional.

Business brief: My message I try to get across with my website is that I will be providing agency quality work but for a lot less than they would pay at an agency, I focus on usability and conversions and of course help them reach their goals and solve their problems via a complete website strategy.

Timeframe: 3 Days

Payment: $100 USD via PayPal

Some expectations for the logo:

• I MUCH prefer a logo that is 100% custom (no stock/clip art)
• Logo should look good in black and white as well
• Logo should still be identifiable at very small sizes (for example, on a pen)
• Logo should be created as a vector

Deliverables: Vector file (.ai, .eps) both in full-color as well as the black and white version; if possible, the font used as well.

Winner: I'll announce a winner after the timeframe listed above has ended, however I reserve the right not to pick a winner if there is nothing I feel suits.

Please note:

• If you MUST use stock/clip art then you MUST have the rights to use it for the intended purpose as well as myself (I don't want any licensing issues); this also goes for fonts used as well.
• Once the winner has been paid in full they release all copyrights of the logo over to myself.

 

@Altruist Design Thanks for the entry but not really feeling it. Just seems like a random icon that has no connection to the business placed next to text.

 

Thanks for the feedback. Each of the electrons is representing a letter in BLM. I gave the whole thing some roundness to make it more personal and less corporate. I will try some other ideas.

I was expecting a few more entries by now - are there people working on designs or is the 100% original putting people off?

 

@CRH5 Thanks for the entry. Does the icon have any significance? As per Altruist Design's entry, there needs to be some kind of connection between the icon if one is used and the business/industry, otherwise it's just a random icon.

Also, could you overlay it over the background color mention so I can see how it would look? Thanks!

@getdomain4u I think this is going in the right direction My only complaint though is it looks a bit too corporate for my liking.

 

You have a Web Design/Development company This icon represents this type of company, it's a media icon. The shape, the colours and the 3D effect look great and representative for what your company does. So if you are a web design/development company, your logo should be strong and eye cathching, not just a simple text logo. But it's just my vision and my opinion. It's not just a random icon. I designed it for you. This is my explanation.

 

@CRH5 Thanks for the explanation. The icon is nice, don't get me wrong, but I guess what I was getting at is if you showed it to "joe average" on the street without seeing the business name, would thye be able to guess what type of company it belonged to? But I guess being in a creative industry it allows for a bit more freedom

Other than that, whilst I like the icon, I don't really like how it connects with the text or maybe it's the font used - just not feeling that part of it.

@Orlando M Thanks for your entry. Probably not the style I'm going for, looks more like a good logo for a rental site (the "m" looks like a house) haha

#1. I like the concept of the icon with how it integrates all 3 letters, but not feeling the pointing edges part of it. So in other words, I think using that concept has potential, but the logo overall isn't standing out to me.

#2. Hmmm... don't like this style. I guess the logo is also too big in height.

#3. Not feeling this one either, the "swirl" icon doesn't seem to have much significance.

@getdomain4u I think I preferred the one without the icon, the icon with this one kinda makes it look circa 1992 lol..... again like the original, just needs to look less corporate.
