Hello, My name is Jaime, and I am the creator and CEO of I Told You I Was Sick, a website dedicated to helping those with chronic illness find validation, community, and support, as well as natural and practical treatments for their condition(s). I've been running my blog for 7 years now, and I'm still growing into it and finding my niche. I think I'm finally hitting my stride, and I'm ready to start partnering with sponsors. Here is a link to my site: http://itoldyouiwassick.info/ A little more about me: I love writing, reading, listening to creepy stories while updating my social media accounts, photography, hiking, and all things cute. I'm also a left-handed (close to middle age, but not quite there yet) autistic woman. If you're interested in working with me, please drop me a line.
I know a couple who both were sick for years not knowing what was wrong until they found out they both had lyme disease (got it from ticks). @dcristo if you're autistic you're a quite functioning one. A mild Asperger's syndrome is more likely. I have a friend who has Asperger's. He's probably the kindest person I've ever met.
I don't know. I have a lot of empathy. I remember punching one of my friends at his 16th birthday party because he invited someone to his party specifically to bully them. I remember it because one of my mates brought it up recently. I hate how people bring up old shit like that. But I don't have a problem with eye contact which I think Aspies do? I suck terribly at socializing, though, but you wouldn't know it talking to me online.
Thanks for the welcome. Autism is a spectrum, so everybody experiences it differently. Also, if you experience us as "mildly autistic", please understand that our symptoms are mild for you, not for us. It just means we're very good at masking, compensating, and hiding, and it's exhausting.
