There are loads of search engines. The challenge for the companies who own them is to get us to not have Google as our default and to change allegiance in sufficient numbers.

What do you actually want to find out?

Search engine user statistics Google, 91.25%. bing, 3.08%. Yahoo! 2.13%. Baidu, 1.48% there are lots of search engine available here, but google provide lots of search facility and tools ,which another search engine cant provide.but bing almost near google consider as everything except user statistics. For your search compatibility ,find out first for which purpose you think that alternative options for replacement.

But have they got the clout to replace Google?
They've been around for years and I've never heard a non-tech person say they use it.

Duckduck is cool and I see a steady increase in the users from it on the site I run and those I work for but it's only the same amount as maybe Yahoo/Bing so it's never going to knock Google off it's perch. Particularly as its moral values means it could never make the money that Google does.

Google is the best. All knows. But lately Bing is trying hard to convince people use it. BTW I have started Bing Image for pics search as find better than Google Image.

Bing is the next best thing.... I do think Apple will get in on it in the next few years and start to threaten Google...

Very little in all the accounts i monitor... our own sites and my clients.

    Hi,

Bing or Yahoo, I've used bing before and the results way less than Google but take into account how many people use Google to other search engines.

I don't want to just rely on Google for traffic etc but there really is no other search engine that comes close :(

    Best Regards

Honestly the best way to make an alternative is first by using the search engines and social media's such as what Facebook has done. Many people need to know your brand without using the search engines. Hard strategy to accomplish however, with brilliant branding strategies it is achievable.

If DuckDuckGo tried, I'm pretty sure there is a good start if they have a 10 year budget. Sadly if anything would come close to replacing Google, it would be a company we don't know yet.

My organic traffic comes 71% from Google, 18% from Bing, and the other 11% from lots of others. I seem to rank higher in Bing than in Google for the same keywords. So I think that is why I am well above the average in percentage of traffic from Bing.
