Proxy doesnt works for my school because they will bann proxy sites just after a few days people discover a proxy site and use it. I only know that you can use ipconfig to use IP to go to the site but the students dont know how to use that. Is there a alternative or solution that my friends and i can always use proxy site conviently? Thanks
if you know the gateway ip you can use winsock, i used them all the time when i was in highschool.....alot has changed since then they simply used wingate and all machines were win98, xp is alittle tricky to make winsock work i hear.
With the help of VPN you can always use proxy sites conviniently because VPN does not leave any trace on your local network so the network admins wont be able to block.
I guess he is saying about VPN - Virtual Private Network, not VPS (Virtual Private Server) You can find some VPN info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Private_Network This was my 2,000th post on DP!
did you mean use a host that have VPN? Im sorry that im so noob on this.. Btw,congrats on your 2000th post
basically is more like you remote to a different machine to surf the net, liek i can remote to my home machine and i surf from there, also you can setup your own proxy server(use your home machine)
In either Firefox or Internet Explorer you could set the setting to connect directly through a proxy url. In Firefox Tool --> Option --> Connection Setting This will of course require you to find a decent proxy url.
New proxies pop up every day by the dozens. Surely he can't keep track of all of them. Just use one for a few days until it gets banned, then move on to another one.
Thanks for the inputs.. Im actually thinking of opening a proxy site but i guess my friends cant use it at school because when it got popular, the administrator will ban it.
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It provides the user a secure channel between the users local computer and a computer at the remote location. VPN enables any user to access a Private Network securely from anywhere in the world as long as an internet connection is available and the private network provides the user the access to its resources. VPN can be setup on a VPS.
can you install software on ur pc?? if yes use VPN client... (google it) there are a lot and ur school can do nothing for VPN proxies
thanks for the help. how do i know which host has VPN with VPS? i dont see most of the host saying anything with the term "VPN"
Sometimes if you use the site ip not the address it works. But what i did is programed a little browser and i put it on my school account and i just execute it from there. Once the blocks in my school district are embedded in just IE.
