Hi everyone, I want to track analytics on my home page, but for some reason, GA isn't tracking my homepage traffic, but instead all its subsequent pages. If you look at the image, it clearly shows that my page is collecting data. I am certain I've installed GA on the page... HELP!
Maybe your site has been penalized in the Google algorithms, no? Examine what you tolerate. That would be the white elephant solution, but sometime the truth hurts, right?
I don't think there's a penalty that would affect google analytics, even less so a penalty that makes ga no longer work on the homepage but work everywhere else. Maybe your code is acting up on the homepage for some reason, rendering the ga code you inserted ineffective?
open your home page and then examine your source code. (Press Ctrl+U) You have to find a GA counter. It looks like this : UA-1111111-1 then do the same thing with inner pages If you find the code on every page, you installed GA correctly. ---------------- Probably your GA works correcty. I see 2 pageviews on the screenshot. It's a common situation when all you traffic is organic and landing pages are articles which are inner pages.
You need to check the GA Code on home page and on Other Pages are same, If not then change the code to tracking code. Nikita Sawant Salesforce Consultant
If you post a bunch of new pages and you know people are visiting them, but you don’t see a corresponding rise in your Google Analytics data, this is one possible reason. You simply didn’t add the right tracking code to those pages. In order for Google to record data about a page, that page needs to execute a bit of Javascript. If that Javascript isn’t present, Google can’t record any data.
I had this problem, except it wasn't tracking any of my pages. What I ended up doing, is that it turns out I had two tracking codes set up for some reason. So, what I did was I just selected the other tracking code which said, "All Website Data."
