Paying people to buy a book?

I know this sounds silly, but I want to pay people to buy a $0.99 book on Amazon to see how that boosts its rank... where would I find these people?

Maybe there are some on this forum but DP doesn't have very much traffic...

    Do you have any suggestions?

Maybe sites like craigslist that are free?

Or bigger forums? Not necessarily webmaster forums really... maybe forum for bargain hunters or freelancers?

    Curious what your suggestions are.

Let's please not discuss if it's a good or bad idea to experiment with buying your own book, that's maybe a discussion for another topic :)

How much do you intend to pay for each book purchased? And how many buyers are you actually looking for?

$2 + book cost. Through paypal, bitcoin or other cryptos.

Looking for lots of buyers. I don't mind if someone buys using the accounts of friends and family members as well. As long as the IP addresses are different, it's fine. In fact, it actually makes my life a bit easier if one person can get me several sales.

Yes it does. You will get TONS of people who think making $1 profit is good... and they will absolutely be willing to waste all of their time doing so... Post in the right section in Buy/Sell and you will get about 15 to 20 little indians, a few russians, a couple north korean, and a few under aged americans...

You already know where to find them. You've posted in the WF and that should bring you plenty of people. You could also put up an ad on a place like SEOClerks or a freelancer site for people willing to do this.

That used to be true a few years ago, haven't visited DP in ages, seems the traffic levels are down a lot. But maybe you're right, will give it a go.

I'm not active on forums but I've visited DP on and of for easily over 10 years

Webmaster forums are ok for this, maybe some brainstorming will reveal other places. Haven't tried seoclerks or any freelance places, maybe they'd be worth a shot. Thanks!

I will try to post in the Buy/Sell section but it seems I can't until I have 3 likes from members... is that even a feature anymore?

I don't even see the option of liking another person's posts, maybe you only get that option after you have more posts yourself?

What do you gauge your perception on? This forum gets tons of traffic. Each category has their own traffic... it's very niche.. The posters in the PHP section are not the same posters in the HTML section who often aren't the same visiting the Free section.

I remember how around 2006 or 2007, DP was just huge. It's still a big forum, but a shadow compared to its glory days :(

I'm confused... you are looking for people to pay $2 to to buy a $1 book. You don't need a huge forum or even a big forum to get people interested. This forum is probably the only forum where you can find people excited about making a single dollar. Even if this forum has shrunk (in your opinion) that doesn't mean you can't find a handful of people who will help you out. I'm confused as to why you think this will stop you..

    Actually, I'm paying people $3 to buy a $1 book, $2 + book cost.

Don't get me wrong, this forum is a pretty good place, just doubt I'll find more than 5-10 people.

I'm reading a book at the moment that the author gave away via Amazon to people who'd taken up an offer through goodreads.com. Just having a freebie in return for an honest review should be good enough for most people.

    Not ready yet

This is a popular practice but I only need book purchases, not reviews

As long as you don't openly trade the book for the review. Pretty sure that's against Amazon's TOS.

Yes, that would be against their tos, you can't force anyone in any way to leave you a review

    Will PM you right now
