Seo don't use Google to check backlinks because it is miss-informative. They only show a sampling and this sampling is not the best but random links so you never see the really good links that ACTUALLY got the ranking. See my point? I have been doing seo for a while now and know how it all works and believe me spamming links in Google gets you banned. The porn/gambling section seems to still run on that however.

 

Visio, I am aware that mass spamming of links will ultimately get you banned and that google only shows a random sample of backlinks.

I pointed Austars to the seo tool because Yahoo seems to show all backlinks pointing to a site, just so that they could get a good idea that sites are ranking well with thousands of spammed links.

The point is that spamming links WILL get you a boost in rankings in google, contrary to your advice. Yes it will ultimately get you banned from the SERPs, but between those two events they coin it in big time.

I don't think you actually read my posts properly.

As for the "really good links" you talk about - those are got from spamming as well.

 

You don't understand Google SEO. I can send 50,000 spam links to your site overnight. Your rankings will not go in either direction because they are trash links but Google can't penalize you because then I could get you banned if I didn't like you. Yahoo tracks crap that Google does not track. Google may have a link in their links command but that doesn't mean it is giving you any value. You should try your own advice and then come back later and tell us what happened - I think you will find out I am quite right.
You can spam forums with your links which may or may not be tracked in Google depending on the forum and other factors however if it is tracked the value passed is likely to be so low that even thousands would take your rankings nowhere.

 

Ok, tell me wise master how they are ranking in the top 10 for 'buy viagra'

Have you tried Articles? Blogging and Link Exchanges? Continue link-building until it reached the top. Every time Google updates, SERPs and backlinks may either increase or decrease.
