It is nearly impossible to get rich off ADSENSE in 2018 because more than half users have Ad Blocker

The Decline of the Advertising Industry
Another factor contributing to lower earnings over the past few years is the general decline of the advertising industry. A 2015 Reuters Institute Digital News survey indicates that nearly half of US internet users have some form of ad blocking software installed. Reuters Institute’s latest predictions forecast a 24% increase in US users with ad blocking in 2017. Advertisers have to fight harder to get the attention of the remaining half of consumers and many companies have decided to allocate those funds elsewhere.

According to the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s latest Internet Advertising Revenue report, search advertising on desktop declined for the first time in 2016, falling 12% to $8.9 billion. However, mobile advertising grew 105% from $3.6 billion to $7.4 billion. Mobile search is having an increasingly strong impact in shaping a site’s traffic.

These factors are outside of WordAds’ control but they weigh heavily on how many impressions publishers will receive. If the vast majority of a site’s visitors are using ad-blockers and the site isn’t easily found via mobile search, it is likely to suffer earning declines on any ad network.

“Ad rates industry wide have fallen over the past few years,” Springer said. “Ad buyers just aren’t paying what they used to and more users are using ad blockers. They heyday of the late aughts/early twenty-teens may never return as ad buyers realized they just aren’t getting the return they were expecting.”

The industry is a victim of its own success, as income rose more and more sites looked for ways to add more ad inventory to a page, then the users fought back and started to block the "excess" amount of ads, now its swung too far and sites with more modest levels of advertising are suffering. A classic minority spoiling for the majority...

Does anyone remember when EzineArticles were at their peak? The amount of AdSense on each page were ridiculous.

not to mention, even ezine got hit with a penalty...
I do not think has also lost quite a bit popularity also...
I know back then, everyone was forcing their articles everywhere,
and probably still are today, and getting less because of it.....
I do not think google sees ezine the same as they once did...

Does the ad-blocker option available both on mozilla firefox and chrome? It is better to use web as well as mobile ads to maximize our revenue rather than depending on one source. We do know they are ads but sometimes we intend to click it because we want to know about the product which we have never seen.Due to ad-block people will miss some things.

I think if anyone is going to get "rich" off Adsense they most likely have the opportunity to get much "richer" focusing on another way to monetize.

Yes, Ad Blocker impacts on Adsense Earnings, but you can increase CTR increase by optimizing ads placement, colors. It's still possible to make a good money from Adsense, if you have several hundred SEO-optimized articles. I focus on artilce writing and linkbuilding. And nothing else matters :)
