    hi friends,

    one of my site is having permalink like date-title (1-1-2018-ABCD)

    if i change it to title only (abcd)..

    does it effect my previous seo and how much time it take to recover with new permalinks (links).

    or is their any easy way to change permalinks...

    You would want to do a 301 redirect for all of the pages that are to be changed. If you are using a CMS, such as Wordpress, there are plugins that may help you. I know Yoast Professional for Wordpress will automatically redirect as you change it.

    And yes, if you don't do the redirect it will affect your SEO.

    Just 301 redirect from the old urls to the new ones correctly and you will do just fine.

    Are you using Wordpress or Drupal, for example, for your website? The reason I ask is that you may have a simple option to help you.

    Depending on the size of your site, it can be very complicated, especially if it's very big.
    This here explains one way to do it. https://www.inmotionhosting.com/sup...ting-up-a-301-permanent-redirect-via-htaccess
    There are other ways as well, but that is the most common. Your web host may be willing to help you. It's worth a try.
    If that is too complicated an option for you then you may want to hire someone to help you, especially if you are talking hundreds or thousands of pages.

    Yes, it will affect big time if you are not doing any 301 redirections from the old to the new permalink. Given that you have properly applied 301 redirections, there will still be a little dancing from the ranking and traffic of your new site. However, if the content, the meta are in tact, it should be back on track.

    One lazy answer, if there aren't too many posts, is to put up pages at the old-format URLs and put in the 301 redirect code:
    <?php
    header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently"); header("Location: http://www.New-Website.com");
    ?>

    I'd be lying if I said I've never taken that lazy route. :-D Might be faster than finding just the right wordpress plugin.
