    Its their loss to be honest. Trust or not is completely on them. $1 ain't going to make me rich or make them poor either, so a test run won't hurt for sure.

    I think you can give a sample article free. This way if your article is too good, I am sure you will get good and serious clients. However, be very careful while choosing clients. All are not good here. Some may never turn up after taking the sample article.

    Also, you can make your own blog or website, which must look professional. The articles there will work as samples and if those are awesome, you may get good clients.
