I try not to listen to any of my favorite artists while buckling down, or else I'd get too into the music and get myself distracted! Find something that you don't know all the words to yet, or something instrumental, and get to work!

Sometimes you just need to find something relaxing.

In my experience, music can be used as a tool to improve productivity. But, it needs to stay in the background and don't catch your attention.
I choose music that's calm, but upbeat. Like this

I can't study if I am listening to songs.

I read once that classical music provides a positive subliminal influence on the learning process when played in the background as you study. The article stated that the most influential music is Baroque.

I tried it for a while but can't say now that I got good results as that was some years ago.

In my younger days, I tried classical music for studying and work. It was all right but never became a habit. I would recommend it, but perhaps I was too lazy to keep it up consistently. It does help though!

If you want to meet this fate than play music on speakers rather than headphones and see your spectacles getting damaged anywhere bcz these people who got rejected from various interviews of companies have gone mad... see example of a illiterate person here -

I listen to chill beats when I do homework, something that's in the background but doesn't make you pay attention to it too much.

Depends on the music, if it hypes you up too much, it makes it difficult to study.

Some people actually are able to remember things better when listening to music because they are able to associate certain times and parts of their study with certain parts of a song or mix they were listening to. Then when the time comes they have easier recall. For someone like myself however, I like to dance to the music which can be distracting in itself during a time of study. Everyone is different!
