I used to have images next to my ads, i later tried without and found my ctr and revenue increased... HEAPS! :)

If you have targeted ads they are better than having images next to your ads. ;)

You mean images next to adsense. having ads (non-contextual ones) next to adsense is still perfectly fine.

OK, the images next to ads are now prohibited. Rules are made by Google and we must play with them. How about consentrating into good quality content? I have a feeling that it will bring some quality traffic, relevant ads and those two together will create high CTR and revenue.

No surprises here other than I'm a little surprised this wasn't announced sooner. I am actually quite pleased, this issue can finally be brushed under the carpet. Everyone was aware that if they were using images aligned with their ads that they were walking on thin ice.

Google is right about that. Because images have nothing to do with the ads then you're probably cheating users.

So when is this in effect? So many webpages to change... There are also lots of websites out there with images beside their adsense.. I dont think they update often lol.

For you maybe, but it won't be affecting my CTR at all ;)
You seem to be under the impression that this is something new when in actual fact it isn't. You should never have been aligning images alongside your ad units.

Great news. I'm glad Google have clarified this, I always thought those sort of ad placements were misleading.

Why? MFA sites are violating the TOS anyway so I doubt their owners will be concerned with this. Besides, the majority of MFA site's are that poorly implemented anyway aligning images would be considered too much hard work.

you're wrong. MFA sites does'nt violates TOS, otherwise their accounts could be closed way back... most of the MFA sites are created mainly for Arbitrage purpose and their clicks pay rate are very much low, may be google may be look after these in a short while..
