I am in the process of registering a domain for search engine optimization/optimisation. However I am not sure whether to use 'z' or 's' ( in optimi'z'ation or optimi's'ation). Could some one enlighten me.
It depends. Here in Ireland and Europe we use Search Engine Optimisation , in the US you use optimization. I guess it's down to your market. Interesting though, a search in Google for Search Engine Optimisation suggests Search Engine Optimization and vice versa in MSN.
In Yahoo it suggests Search Engine Optimisation. I guess, by choosing either Z or S, one or two of the SE might ignore my domain.
Your search - optiminsensation - did not match any documents. Nice one! I know what I'll be targeting today I wonder how long it will take this thread to rank for that.
Thanks tech blog. I have settled for www.seo-services.co.uk. I have Just registered it (during our conversation) and am "optiminsensationing" it. LOL Cheers
optimization... though some sites displays the spelling incorrectly as what parusa619 said.. but the right spelling is optimization
Thanks. I am thinking of using www.seo-services.co.uk to offer free seo classifieds. And its url might look similar to seo-services.co.uk/search-engine-optimization/link-building...etc
balaa_uk - if you're in the UK then you open up Microsoft Word, set the language to "English (UK)" and type both words in. Which gets the squiggly underline? Now, if you're worried about search engines - consider the spelling your customer will key in. That's the word you have to worry about. And if you are chasing "search engine optimi(sz)ation" then you have a long, long battle ahead. Consider an alternative phrase that may get you more success. After all most customers don't actually know the phrase, they just "want to get ahead in google". Oh, and I'm in New Zealand where it's definately optimisation.
Try to based on what country is your targeted. try to used This one http://www.google.com/trends... Hope it helps.
Consider which spelling to use when building links... if you've spelt it one way in your content, but have it spelt both ways in your backlinks then you might be able to capture both SERPs. Here's a bit of fun - go to the SEOChat graphic search engine comparison and enter both spellings of "search engine optimisation". I've attached the image of the results I got. Then look at the websites that are top of both SERPs, and see how they did it. Title elements my work for you, e.g. optimize. Maybe. I'm just guessing. Cryo.
