This is just a basic question. How many keywords should I have per page or over the whole site. And should the keywords relate to the page and its content if that is differant from the site content

    Thank you for the help

A keyword is potentially any word that appears on a web page, but using markup etc I think it's wise to target 2 or 3 phrases per page. If you are talking about the keywords meta tag, content in there won't boost your rankings too much.

    Hi,
the less keywords (per page) the better. Of course if you have enough pages on your site to optimize them for few words.
If you haven't a lot of pages you must cope with that and try to optimize these ones with several keywords. It's not he easier way of course.
And in any way don't try to optimize a page for more than three or four keywords, it would be a waste of time.
