I have been addicted to Quora for a while now using it for personal as well as recreational use, but i recently came across another platform Yahoo Answers, but have no idea how to use it!
we have to admit that yahoo has lost its glaze. there used to be a time when yahoo was lock stock and barrel. no more it is. quora has created a great space for itself. i find it as a rehab against FB addiction. not just me, i have met a heap of guys who prefer socialising through Quora than fb. gosh!!!!
I never see Yahoo Answers in the SERPs. Granted, Yahoo is a huge portal, so it could still get a lot of traffic. It would be interesting to see the difference between it and Quora.
Both Quora and Yahoo Answers can be useful. Each site provides ways to communicate with others and get your questions answered.
FB has got all sorts of rubbish tags, jokes and all. Adolf Hitler once said- "If an FB page doesn't teach you something new everyday, probably you subscribed the wrong one" kidding. thats my theory. Quora gives you the right knowledge at every line. experiences being shared both off and on their respective jobs. I have already deactivated FB for like over 2 months. Quora fills me.
Yahoo answers were very popular a couple of years ago. I don't know what happened, now when I am looking for something on Google yahoo answers come up very rarely. Maybe people don't need quality and useful answers anymore or just google gives some answers on the search you know sometimes there is a small field with an explanation of your question on the top 1st page before the results begin.
I never used Yahoo Answering, but I use Quora. Also, in SERPs I never found a single result so far for any query, so for me, Quora is better.
Yahoo Answers was indeed popular several years ago, but not so much anymore. Quora is going to be ranked higher than yahoo answers now days.
Quora has a better user experience, and answers are frequently ranked high in Google. I certainly prefer it over Yahoo, both for personal use and for driving traffic.
Softbank Aquired Yahoo and Google, slowing destroying both these companies. Now the bankers and insurance people wants to destroy Quora, AOL and Baidu to keep moron companies like Amazon or Alibaba running just to finance tours of their females surviving on Coke.
Both platforms are totally different and have unique features, so that comparison is very difficult among them. Both are best question-answering platform
The only thing Y!A (Yahoo! Answers) does better than Quora is allow some details in the questions. Quora used to allow that too but less so than Y!A does now. Before then Quora didn’t even have a limit to question details. I think Quora should change this back. Here are all of the (rest) things which (all) Quora does better than Y!A: Has a policy against harassment (the BNBR Be Nice, Be Respectful policy). You can do nasty things on Y!A and get away with it even if reported, where you can’t do on Quora. Quora has real moderators whereas Y!A is completely automatic. And if just 2 people report an answer, if you appeal, a real person might not see it ever either (I think), so your answer goes goodbye forever. And sometimes the moderators delete good answers but keep bad answers.
