That's it folks Google is killing pop unders on the next version of Chrome (the most used browser) Effectively putting out of business all those shady pop under networks.

"Chrome will soon make browsing porn sites less frustrating"
F**ing communists. So they think that if you block all ads then viewing all websites will not be frustrating?
Well it won't be. Becuase these websites will have to either close or demand subscription payment for access.

Imagine that someone comes and says that paying money for bread is frustrating and now bakeries/groceries are not allowed to get paid. Do you think bakeries will continue existing?

If no solution found, then its not going to effect just ad network, it will effect a lot many other businesses which runs on ad network traffic and as per the information provided by google, it does not looks they want to block only pop under, they plan to block many other formats.

For adsense to keep reigning all other ad networks must perish, unless they resell adsense ads.

When you dominate the search engine, the ads, the browser and the mobile devices and OS. It's check mate, game over.

Their game their rules. They own the ball, the pitch, the stadium the city where it's build and your wife (soon™).

My experience tells me that hoping for European anti-monopoly authorities won't get us far... Yes, they will look into it.
Maybe after 10 years they even do some ruling. If European Union still exists...

I would be If i ran a pop under ad network.
If this actually stops pop unders effectively next update and there's no workaround it's pretty much bye bye business model.
DP isn't on its best moment either at least 'pay per click advertising' subforum, i don't expect much engagement here but since pop under networks flood this section lately i thought it would be nice to here from them, oh well.

I've tried to get industry (or the part of it that I know) to take some action. Till now, all ignore it or think it will not affect too much traffic.
Some told me that they will just switch to tabup/tabunder (which as per latest update from google, will be blocked too).
I am vastly more pessimistic in this topic and I am sure that all adnetworks will wake up in January.

There are many networks out there who are very active here, though nobody really want to discuss much about it, may be if more ad network take part in discussion we can come up with some more info or ideas.

I don't think it will be end of business, it may be different business model and may take some more time to get into new things.

Main worry is they going to block all pops, no matter how it opens, its not just pops as per what I read or understand they going to block interstitial as well.

It is funny how your whole business depends on a $80 per month script developed by some Indian dude: popunderjs*com
But more marketshare for everyone else in January I guess :D

They are a lot of ways, if you open your eyes :) true before i was the same just focus on ads and popups till i find out about the future Google update and stay few weeks and study :) in this new google update 50%/70% of webmasters will end, but the 50%/30% is the ones who searching a new way of using website traffic.

And one, for example, is mail list :) we need to learn with the idea all ads will die soon or later ( not include the big ads networks like google ads ) who is waiting till that moment is a bad decision.

I can imagine after they block most of the ads companies, will be a lot of free traffic :) no more 100m adult websites ( adult websites for example ) ...

If google is cleaning up popunders, then good for them....
Every popup, popunder I have ran across, I closed immediately....
popups/popunders are annoying, and in my opinion bad visitor experience....

some of you guys thing big G is just taking out more ad networks, bla, bla, bla...
however, I think google is cleaning up the trash, and this will improve visitor experience.

If you happen to be in the business of producing bad visitor experiences, then I think
you are 100% in the wrong business, and google will catch up, and wipe you out soon enough...
then again, I am surprised that google allowed this to go on for this long.....

start saying good bye to all those misleading click me, click that, click here to
download nothing while popunders provide yet more bad visitor experience....

Does not matter what your thoughts are. if google catches any site running
any type of popup, popunder, misleading redirect, then google can just
de-index your entire site, then you will be dead in the water as far as
google traffic is concerned, so if these types of sites solely reply on google
traffic, then they could cease to exist once google finds them violating
what will be new google terms of service concerning popups/popunders, etc.

there is simply no thought process involved, and it will not be the first
time google wiped sites out of existence overnight, wont be the last....

Kinda true what @dscurlock say but the same time i hope google will remove auto ads player on youtube too, that ads play is one of the most annoying thing because a lot of uploaders is adding a lot of ads on them ... anyway, i use plugins on chrome to remove the youtube ads :) but if they want to remove the trash they need to remove there own trash too. But in the end they will not remove there own trash. This is im kinda suprise after so long time people still didn't learn with the idea, and popads.net how long you are trying to fix this you can't becouse google own chrome so they can do what ever they want ... i know with this update popads.net and other popup networks will die, you guys need to learn with the idea you can't stop this, and find other ways to use the visitors to make money :) im just curios how many websites will be close soon.

PS: More website close is equal more free traffic. The smart webmasters because this they are happy with the future update ( and i feel happy too )
