    It's very simple because Google is offering some of the premium features and applications to society for free. In generally if you wish to buy email accounts then for very small space you have to pay very very hefty amount from your pocket or in order to store your files online hosting companies are charging huge prices from you. But Google is giving them for free and also it has Google Maps to search your favorite route or location, Youtube to watch your favorite video and much more.

    Google is disruptive, innovative, and leader, so obviously people would love it.

    well, google was most successful in catering the needs of their users. They developed the most comprehensive ranking system and maintained high standards. Also google was first to sell ad spaces for search queries, which brought them unimaginable wealth... and it still brings.

    The color scheme is very good, simple & easy to use. And the plus fector is Google has many other programs such as social network site, emailing system, adwards, docs, cloud base stroage, much much more bunch of things. That's why Google is on the top I guess.
    Other search engines are not the same thing offering, they are not clean looking and a bit of messy links, themes etc so they are not famous as Google.
    These are my views I can be wrong :)
