No. I don't think so. Google is still the king and still people visit google.com just to check if internet is working or not. I only use bing when I need to download google chrome on new installed windows ( Because they force us to use EDGE, where they have bing as home page. So probably sale of Microsoft Windows is getting increased.).
Look at your site stats. Are you getting more or less traffic from them than you did at this time last year. Not as a percentage, but as a total count. I've yet to meet anyone who prefers it but I'm sure they're out there.
Back in 2008 I met someone who was 100% pro Y! search engine. I won't be surprised if he's 100% pro b today. He had some moral dilemma with the big g.
Satya Nadella as we all know CEO of MS Corp. need to focus on Bing, if wish to Grow It. At Reuters newsmaker event in New York Satya Nadella said "Bing, will focus on expanding in the PC search market". "Bing, the 2nd largest search engine in the US, was the default engine for Siri since 2013" Lets See what is the future of the Bing!
Bing and Yahoo both alliance is good, most of the traffic results displays same in both search engines but they are lagging behind Google. Google is growing much faster compare to any other search engines in the market. But those who got frustration with Google's commercials stunts will surely prefer to search from alternatives. So most of the intelligent individuals are using Bing and yahoo only in order to hide their search history because Google will sell your data with it's partners.
Bing is still competitive and doesn't stop to improve its features in their search results and more interesting is the great image that is giving a positive aura to the users to use Bing as their companion.
In comparison to Google, I don't think Bing is doing too well (Source: http://www.smartinsights.com/search-engine-marketing/search-engine-statistics/ ). but in comparison to other search Engines, it's doing pretty well. I would be interested in seeing stats from 2016 and 2015 though.
Google dominates search engine business, i don't think any search engine can ever compete with Google.About Bing, i think most windows 10 users who use EDGE Browser must be using Bing and hence little growth.
I do not know it is growing or not? But, if it is growing so definitely there is hard work behind this and we can not say Google will always be on the top because nowadays the competition is very high in every field, so it is very difficult to say who will be the King in coming days. As we know Google SEO is very tough to do and it very hard to retain the #1 position on the Google for everyone. So, let's see what happened in the coming days and if Bing is growing so it is better and as you said you read it somewhere so optimize your website for Bing as well.
fake news! If one can not make it via seo (google) then bing, yahoo, and other engines combined will do almost nothing for you. I suspect most barely make a penny from bing, compared to a $1 from google.... google is the big cheese, and all other engines would merely be bonus traffic....
One of my main projects relies solely on organic traffic. While the majority of my traffic comes in via Google, Bing really isn't that far behind in stats. Its worth being indexed and ranked with bing, don't throw it away.
Bing may be growing in market share, but it is still way behind Google. It's a shame too, since Google tracks so much of peoples' information. People would be better served using Qwant or another non-tracking search engine.
